So I finished my two day training for very complicated accounts a week and a bit ago, then immediately went on planned leave. Ten days later, today, I'm to be dealing with these accounts and I feel I've forgotten everything.
Before starting I was exceptionally, surprisingly nervous like my heart was racing, crazy nervous energy. I was thinking holy shit I'm actually terrified.
After a little while it dawned on me though, before starting work I had a strong large coffee like usual. What I did not do however, was drink any coffee during my time off. I was flying off the walls with a caffeine buzz and confusing it with pure terror about these accounts.
Day went fine. I dealt with said accounts without drama, quite a lot more energy expenditure as lots of new ideas etc. but it went it well!
I am listening my way through the new recordings of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Not read them all before so this has been a nice way to get through them. Getting close to the end now and it's been lovely. Highly recommend if you want some whimsy.

:::
Today has been 3 months since I jumped off suboxone.
In that time I've more alive than I have in a decade. There's too many things to list, too many "first time in 10 years" but I'll list the 2 most important.
laughing properly
endorphin rushes from listening to and making music.
It's been hard but worth it. I've had to deal with some really serious stuff and didn't have a single craving. Didn't even occur to me as an option.
You prompted me to get/keep in touch with old friends and I've rediscovered my old role playing club has re-branded but is very much alive with a bunch of cool new and old people with regular non-committal get togethers. I feel like I've found 20 old friends and 40 new ones.
Been feeling the throat, bridge of the nose, and eyes today. A few people around work have been feeling sick so I'm hoping it doesn't get worse.
So no bike in this morning. If I'd been riding already I'd deal with it, but I feel like things need to be perfect to get back into the swing of things.
The days are so nice now, though. The morning ride might suck, but the afternoon ride will be very pleasant. I need to just get on it.
Thereโs so much rubbish thrown around here. Not by residents but by trashy randoms. Wondering if thereโs any point to going out and cleaning it up while nobodyโs out there.
Youโre doing a good thing to pick it up. Otherwise it might get washed into storm water, animals might eat it, birds sometimes pick up dangerous materials for their nests.
I live in a pretty tame area, but itโs on a walking route to the local school, so am regularly picking up food packets or random bits of junk the kids drop. Hate it, but I figure itโs better in the bin than in my front yard.
I went out with a glove and a bag to at least pick up the alcohol cans, cigarette packets, takeaway containers and used tissues. (And a random metal spoon.) Gross what people drop on private property.
I have a ridiculous amount of rubbish dumped near me. People seem to think it's ok to dump stuff on any land that's vacant, and because it's a new estate there is a lot of vacant land around. People are obviously driving here just to throw things on the side of the road, including things like furniture. Plus the wind up here tends to pick up and redistribute household rubbish, some of that stuff blows over the fence and gathers in the corner of my yard.
Where I used to be didn't have too much rubbish, but for a few years I had a vacant lot next to me that was a bit the same, random rubbish, empty bottles and occassionally dumped larger things. I used to clean up a lot of it on bin night but it was always a temporary improvement.
Goodnight everyone, I feel like I've been dragging my arse through this glorious day instead of bopping around energized after the weekend. Now I'm dragging myself to bed and flaking out. Love you all ๐
I make my own, but I have noticed that they sell premade ones at the butcher. They look pretty good, might be better and fresher than the supermarket ones?
