Ada was not the “welcome to the family” type. She was more the “I hope you shit yourself before you stroke out in a crowded elevator” type. She liked people. Even a trip to the vet was a trill for her. Fucking hated other cats.
Manuel does not listen and he is not very concerned with what I think about that. He has opinions. He will give you those opinions. And you will just deal with it.

Aww. We buried our old cat's ashes at the spot in the garden where he loved to sit and watch the world - a shady spot under the rhubarb. It's where new cat loves to sit as well.
Oh so there’s actually a story to her name. She was a Manx. Not even the suggestion of a tail. I got her off my friend when she showed up on his porch one day. (A nearby meth house cleared out and suddenly there’s a new suspiciously well socialized stray cat in the neighborhood.) cat broker gives me the cat and me and the guy I was dating at the time are trying to figure out what to name her.
I recalled a pair of kittens off this friends back porch that slept in his mint plants. One had a tail, one didn’t. I was trying to socialize them so we could find them homes. They hated me. As a human, I was the devil. A devil that fed them. We suspected she was somehow related to them.
I named them Bit and Byte. And so she was named Mrs Ada Lovelace. And she was the best thing in my life those 16 years.
So, a couple decades ago mcdonalds was giving out beanie babies and one of them looked just like my kitten. I don't care about beanie babies but i had to get one that looked like my kitten. I showed it to her. first thing she does is pick it up with a claw and throw it, then he swats it mid-air. it was immediately a favorite toy. It's sitting on top of one of my speakers on my sound system right now, judging me.
