Congrats ๐ŸŽ‰

Are you running more these days?

I've cut down heaps on a Friday night now.

calhoon2005@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 350d (1 reply)

Thanks. Parkrun every week, give or take. Couple of other runs though the week. I just started using a capture-territory style app which has made it a bit fun.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 350d

Wow! That's really inspirational!

Gibsons surgery is delayed till next week, and Iโ€™m meeting the director of the company I applied to on Friday.

Polar morning.

'sup everyone I'm back from my travels and back at work today before another conference. Absolutely loved my road trip and the sun and nature and helping out the family I care about. Nice to feel connected and part of something bigger. Life back in Melbourne feels awfully lonely in comparison. No closer to working out what I want to do with my life, but definitely a renewed conviction to get out there in nature and refill the tank more often. I do want to spend less time on the phone and more time being in life, with all its bumps and warts. Feels like having to detox or going to rehab because the urge to retreat into one's phone is so strong, coming back here...

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 350d

Welcome back!

Glad to hear the trip went well :)

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 350d

Yay welcome back to warm sunny Melbourne! Glad to hear you had a good time ๐Ÿ‘

Have decided to take the job offer from yesterday, if only because I need to really make a change. If it doesn't work out, so be it.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 350d

That's the spirit! Congrats ๐Ÿฅ‚

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d

Sparkling water on tap is working again in the office after three weeks. My life is complete once more

tone212_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 350d (1 reply)

My co-working has these taps, one of the main reasons I signed up. Itโ€™s a simple thing but feels like a luxury. Theyโ€™ve also got taps for cold and tepid water too, something for everyone.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d

I think I have like 8 glasses a day. I'm obsessed

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 350d

I would be hydrated as fuck if we had sparkling water on tap here ๐Ÿ˜

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d (4 replies)

I worked in a place that had that......location near Southern Cross perchance?

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 350d (3 replies)

Yes ๐Ÿ‘€

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 350d (2 replies)

Like right at the station?

Haven't worked there for many years, but remember the sparkling water on tap

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 350d (1 reply)

Nah about two and a bit blocks in, I'm guessing sparkling water taps may not be that rare. I'm just on other side of King st from station

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 350d

Different joint then. It was the only place I worked at that had them. I miss those days at times

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d

That's a win.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d

Effing zebra chickens are yelling in my backyard.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 350d (3 replies)

What are zebra chickens?

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 350d (2 replies)

Magpies. Murder chickens are cassowaries, hyper chickens are emus, LGBTQA+ chickens are eastern rosellas, and bin chickens - well you know that one.

anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 350d (1 reply)

And for our Canadian friends there are cobra chickens

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 350d

Traffic on the Western Fwy was way better tonight without the roadworks, plus I got to leave work a bit early. So I'm home way earlier than from the other trips to Melbourne - I'm already in my pjs on the couch instead of in the van still driving somewhere around Ballan. A definite improvement.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 350d (2 replies)

Seems most of the strays are missing today. Hopefully theyโ€™re ok.

Local radical radio, 3CR is offering a two-day podcasting course, October 12 and 19th. The signup link isn't working yet, but you can call 61 3 9419 8377 for more information.

I've been riding the bike with the suspension on for a while and I decided to turn it off to see the difference. It's faster but you do feel the bumps. Maybe I turn it off going home because it trends uphill, or when the battery is getting low and I want to be more economical.

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 350d (1 reply)

May I ask the price bracket for the bike?

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 349d

It goes for less than $2.5k at 99bikes now. Look at the Velectrix range there, some older models have serious discounts on them now

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 350d

Edit: Long ramble deleted. Trying to make old phone usable for a spare device. Iโ€™ll get there
