Plus, if it fell off the tree it would be a twig at best.

pdxfed@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 355d

Did you just attack its girth and imply it's too skinny? 😡

Habahnow@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 355d

A twig? Are you daft man? It's obviously a stick! LOOK at it!

gibmiser@lemmy.world · 52 pts · 355d

Twig. NEXT!

DasFaultier@sh.itjust.works · 44 pts · 355d (1 reply)

Ceci n'est pas un stick.

jollyroberts@jolly-piefed.jomandoa.net · 12 pts · 355d

Came here to say just that, yes.

actionjbone@sh.itjust.works · 33 pts · 355d

Excuse me, but it is TOTALLY WRONG to put a comma after the word "prove."

WoodScientist@lemmy.world · 31 pts · 354d (3 replies)

I disagree. I would classify this as more of a branch than a stick.

spazzman6156@sh.itjust.works · 15 pts · 354d

Nope. Twig.

pebbles@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 354d

Yeah unless the sides are cleaned up this is a branch.

MDCCCLV@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 354d

I concur

pivot_root@lemmy.world · 30 pts · 355d (3 replies)

NaibofTabr@infosec.pub · 18 pts · 355d

I'm sorry, but that is actually a $150 table centerpiece from Pier 1 Imports. It adds a touch of natural feeling to your home decor.

This is a twig. Are twigs sticks? 🤔

Apparently not. Twigs are still attached to the tree and are also flexible. Sticks are detached and dry, so they are not flexible.

That means if a branch or twig falls off the tree, it isn't immediately a stick! It has to dry out a bit, and then it's a stick! God damn. We really have words to differentiate anything and everything. 😮

juja@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 354d

Actually, by virtue of it not being attached to the tree anymore after it has fallen, it no longer is a twig even if it hasn’t fully dried up yet. So until it has fully dried, it’s in a state where it’s both twig and stick. A twick if you will.

resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 354d

Ceci n’est pas une stick.

kersploosh@sh.itjust.works · 14 pts · 355d

Too thin to be called a stick, it's a fucking stupid branch. DOWNVOTED!

Nougat@fedia.io · 4 pts · 355d

It's a branch because it's not a single strand.

Marty_TF@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 355d

Hayduke@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 355d

Well now, to the untrained eye it might appear to be an ordinary stick, but there are several factors one must consider.

Steve@startrek.website · 9 pts · 355d

socsa@piefed.social · 8 pts · 355d
