Do you think they'll finally announce Silksong?
dwemthy@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 360d
September starts with S, just like Silksong. It's been 12 years since Hollow Knight came out. September 12th Silksong announcement confirmed!
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 360d
I think we should keep our expectations in check.

If it doesn't announce Metroid Prime 4 being released in the near future I'm going to throw something
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 360d
It's still labeled as 2025 release, so most probably we will get a release date. Unless they announce something like "we will share more Metroid Prime 4 info in a special direct at a later date"

It will be December 31. They'll put up a gigantically sized image on their website of the logo of the game. I'm talking, like, a gigapixel.
"After long development time, we have finally managed to release 'Metroid Prime™ 4: Beyond'. The Metroid Prime™ 4: Beyond video game for the Nintendo Switch system, Metroid Prime™ 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition video game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system and Metroid Prime™ 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack for the Nintendo Switch 2 system have been delayed to a later date."

Heh, you made me read all that for last 4 words.

Gosh I hope so. 🤞

September 13 is the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. I'd love to see some new Mario games on Switch 2, but realistically I expect just a teaser for the second movie or something.
Metroid Prime 4 release date and shadow drop of 2 and 3 remasters incoming! 🤡
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 360d
I really want to play remasters before the 4th game, so would be very happy if they do that.
Yeah, Odyssey team just made Bananza, and we got Wonder not too long ago, so won't be a new 2D game either.
We can get some other Mario game though. A new RPG, or Paper Mario, or something else. But yeah, not going to have any high expectations.

The most reallistic thing I can think of regarding Mario games is Mario Kart World Tour DLC...
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 360d
Too soon, I believe. Maybe next year or year after that.
missingno@fedia.io · 5 pts · 360d
A full hour, wow. I expect we'll get closer looks at Metroid Prime 4 and Splatoon Raiders, as those are the two biggest upcoming titles. Kirby Air Riders just got a mini Direct, so it probably won't be a focus.
Scratching my head trying to think of what unannounced IPs to expect. No Mario platformers since we just had Bananza and Wonder, but maybe a sports title or some other spinoff, also maybe Kart DLC. The next Zelda won't be for a while, maybe they'll tease it but if so it won't be more than a tease. Maybe a mainline Kirby, but maybe they're too focused on Air Riders. Fire Emblem seems likely, we're right about due. Animal Crossing is certainly possible. Maybe Yoshi?
I want to say Rhythm Heaven as my wildcard pick, but that already did get confirmed so I don't even know what else I want. F-Zero and Panel de Pon would be my dream games but I know they're absolutely not happening.
missingno@fedia.io · 1 pts · 358d
Well, no Splatoon Raiders was a surprise, was sure that'd be featured. I called Mario sports, Fire Emblem, and Yoshi.
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 359d
Just hope they don't spend 20 mins on Metroid Prime 4. I am excited about it but don't want that much time on one game in the main direct.
tamlyn@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 360d
i'm happy if we get any kind of news for Fire emblem in it's 35th anniversary. But i guess it will be allllllll about Mario, the not so important Franchise from Nintendo
Infrapink@thebrainbin.org · 5 pts · 360d
This year is also the 40th anniversary of Super Mario Bros, so I'd be surprised if there was nothing Mario-related.
Evidence is that the next Fire Emblem game will be a Genealogy of the Holy War remake.
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 360d
Who is Mario? Never heard of it. Must be something only for Japanese market.
Xed@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 359d
we could use some new animal crossing content. As a dlc or a new game
I don’t mind either
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 359d
New Game!
emb@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 360d
Friday Direct is slightly unusual. Also pretty rare to see one that's a full hour.
Hope this one's fun! Since their launch direct in April, it feels like they've been stalling the drip feed for as long as possible. It's nice most of the time to get announcements close to release, but at this point I want something bigger to look forward to further down the road.
De_Narm@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 359d
Maybe some news from Monolith? I think they recruited years ago to develop a new medievel IP. Anything Xenoblade would be great, too. But I guess XB3 was only 3 years ago.
An actual Monster Hunter game would be close a second.
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 359d
Oooh, would love a new Monolith game! There hasn't been any more info about the game except for the hiring, and I think one concept art.
misk@piefed.social · 2 pts · 359d
It’ll be focused entirely on Mario theme park ;)
slimerancher@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 359d
Nooooooo!
But I believe it will be part of it.
