Trump Says It’s Not His Signature. But Personal Letters Look Similar.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/08/us/politics/trump-signature-epstein-letter.html?unlocked_article_code=1.k08.KvCK.Lh3Wy3BJs2hy

Donald Trump’s signature has evolved over the years, but when signing just his first name, he often includes the same flourish at the end.

That's his signature.

The end.

RFKJrsBrainworm@sh.itjust.works · 22 pts · 343d (4 replies)

Right....like that mush brained moron could actually tell a difference

MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works · 24 pts · 343d (1 reply)

He couldn't tell the difference between his second wife and the woman he raped while he was on trial and eventually found liable for her sexual abuse. Yes, really.

RFKJrsBrainworm@sh.itjust.works · 10 pts · 342d

Right I remember that ... And yet the stupid idiots of this country thought it was a good idea to elect him.

MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 342d (1 reply)

Right....like that mush brained moron could actually tell a difference

His thoughts on the matter are independent from the facts.

It's his signature.

RFKJrsBrainworm@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 342d

Oh I agree I'm saying that his mushed brain can't tell the difference if it's his signature or not

But of course it's his goddamn mark of the best

The NYT has boots to lick

snooggums@piefed.world · 42 pts · 343d (1 reply)

Multiple people have confirmed it came from him and it is consistent with other things he has done amd said including bragging about his friendship with Epstein and how Epstein had all the young girls.

It is absolutely his signature and his denying it just confirms it.

dnick@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 342d

Seriously, who the fuck would that book have been given to to sign, that would forge a message from fuckwit nobody Trump back then? Who would possibly have anything to gain by both faking a message, and it being 'that' message, just a bland, shallow half inside joke sounding thing with a drawing?

yesman@lemmy.world · 27 pts · 343d (2 replies)

I don't know why people try to litigate this in good faith. Statements from Trump and the Whitehouse are not credible. The WSJ got at least two people to corroborate that drawing and the recollection of two randos, even possible pedos, still carries more weight than statements from Trump.

Lucky_777@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 343d

Yep, never trust anything coming from this admin. 100%

Rentlar@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 343d

I'd more likely think the signature is fake if Trump said it was real.

AlexLost@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 343d

Again, stop asking the criminal if he's guilty and start asking crime experts and the victims.

Curious_Canid@lemmy.ca · 16 pts · 343d (1 reply)

The increasing levels of desperation are amazing.

UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 343d

It's just bland denial. Nothing is going to come of it. Nobody in his administration actually cares that he's a pedophile. Hell, half of them are very openly engaged in sex pesting and nouncing, themselves.

Liberals keep waving this shit around like its more than court gossip. I mean, sure. In this dark hour, I guess it's fun to find the King's pile of weird pedophile poetry and air the laundry. But he's still the king and you've still got his guards looting your cities and dragging your people off to the dungeon.

cronenthal@discuss.tchncs.de · 15 pts · 342d

This is getting ridiculous. Everyone knows what's up, this whole charade is utterly pathetic. God, Trump and his followers are truly the lowest of the low.

blattrules@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 342d

The guy who lies about everything needs to stop being quoted like an authority on anything, especially here where he’s done everything to distance himself from this story and his former bestie.

Frenchys_prospecting@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 342d

I think it's pretty safe to assume that anything coming out of his mouth is utter bullshit and to just release the Trump pedo files

CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 343d

Again, what would the other theory be? That someone else faked this for Epstein's birthday book way back when and no one noticed or said anything back then? When him and Donvict were good pals?

You could tell that question earlier this week posed to the Spokes Barbie - a very simple question asking what is theory the administration is posing - very much annoyed her and she had no real answer other than to deflect and talk about Biden (FFS).

Armok_the_bunny@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 342d

I'm confused, are we on step 1 or step 4 of the narcissist prayer right now?

1: That didn't happen. 2: And if it did, it wasn't that bad. 3: And if it was, that's not a big deal. 4: And if it is, that's not my fault. 5: And if it was, I didn't mean it. 6: And if I did, you deserved it.

CubitOom@infosec.pub · 7 pts · 343d

So someone forged Trump's signature perfectly in like 1995 in one of Trump's best friend's birthday cards - who was a child rapist. Then waited until it was released last week, after Trump was elected president twice. This is some 5D chess right here. If the Democrats where this smart I don't think we'd have Trump.

kmartburrito@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 342d

Welp, that's enough proof for me, he's such a pillar of truth!

Why don't people push back on a man that cannot physically tell the truth? I mean WTAF.

Also reminds me of this. Why isn't the media and everyone else calling this bitch out?

TuffNutzes@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 342d (1 reply)

Trump can say the sky is dark green and the fucking press would legitimize it by letting him debate it publicly for years while the owners sit back and collect the ratings and advertiser money.

The entire structure of capitalism is fundamentally broken.

MBech@feddit.dk · 2 pts · 341d

I'm sitting here wondering what approach would be better to media.

Statefunded media isn't much better because authoritarians will convert it to statefunded propaganda.

Corporate media will only ever do/publish what is most profitable, so they'll side with whatever viewpoint gives the most clicks.

Non-profit media can't necesarily compete, since they lack the needed funding to actually get to the stories.

The answer is obviously to implement proper laws forcing media to have an unbiased angle on every story, but who will enforce that? Some government entity? Then we're back to statecontrolled propaganda.

I guess in the end making authoritarian-proof media isn't really possible...

This is of course all isolated within the current capitalist system. Profit or lack of funding isn't an issue with other economic models, but those will have different issues I'm not gonna bother diving into right now.

Cruxifux@feddit.nl · 6 pts · 342d (1 reply)

Honestly man my signature looks different a lot of the time. The using signatures as evidence thing always seemed suspect to me.

But this adding of evidence doesn’t matter anyway. We all know he’s a pedophile at this point, and those who don’t think so will never believe that he is.

elucubra@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 341d

I did the training for forensic calligraphy analisis (for kicks, I got it for free, long story), although I never got certified, as it was a pain and cost money.

Signature analysis is pretty easy and accurate. Even though your signature will change over time, there are movements, pressures, lift offs, angles, that you make automatically, and which don't change. They are muscle memory.

Lexam@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 343d

One of his first rules. Deny.

phutatorius@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 341d (1 reply)

Trump says all kinds of shit, almost none of it true. Look at what you can see, not what he says.

slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org · 1 pts · 341d

How long until he pulls a Weinstein or Bill Cosby and suddenly don't remember anything.

mrcleanup@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 343d

This is hilarious because if it was faked the signature would match EXACTLY, like, Photoshop perfect.

The fact that it's an organic signature is just that much more damning.

FahrenheitGhost@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 342d

Just like all the other things he does. If he lies enough, it will just go away.

Auli@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 342d (1 reply)

What I don't get is his followers don't care. These "Christians" or whatever the fuck America has de evolved them into well happily vote in some one who is a pedophile want to have sex with his daughter and lies and cheats. But hey that is the American religious values I guess. I don't even think they can be called Christians anymore.

BrokenGlepnir@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 342d

Antichristers. I'm going with that. I used to say antichrist-ians but that's hard to read the way I want it pronounced. The Bible does say the followers of the antichrist with think they are righteous.
