Why? He didn’t shoot Charlie Kirk

So I'm not the only one thinking this.

Sheriff: When’d you shoot him?

Arrestee: What?

Sheriff: At what point did you shoot the clerk?

Arrestee: I shot the clerk?

Sheriff: Yes. When did you shoot him?

Arrestee: I shot the clerk?

Luigi Mangione did nothing wrong. He’s the John Brown of our lifetime.

If Luigi even IS the shooter! I'm still on the fence.

Pretty sure the shooter was in Utah today.

Isn’t this the classic 2nd amendment argument given? We need more good guys with guns to take out the bad guys

New York, Pennsylvania, Federal charges are all separate by the sounds of it.

Mangione's Pennsylvania lawyer Thomas Dickey was preparing to blame the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that he is stuck in New York and can't appear in Pennsylvania court. Delays of bringing his client to the courtroom, which if it doesn't begin within 365 days for reasons caused by the Commonwealth's failure to exercise due diligence, is grounds for filing for dismissal of the Pennsylvania charges he was initially arrested on, according to his lawyer's memos.

(ETA: His lawyer has other strategies too, obviously. Many related to the constitutionality of his arrest at the McDonald's)

I suspect this is just an excuse to charge him with anything in case if the murder charges fall through. They want to aggressively pursue anything against Luigi.

This is just normal proceedings.
Here are his court dates:

Tuesday, 9/16, 9 a.m.: People v. Mangione (NY State), 100 Centre Street, Part 32, New York, NY 10013

Friday, 12/5, 11 a.m.: USA v. Mangione (NY Federal), 40 Foley Square, Courtroom 110, New York, NY 10007

TBD: Commonwealth v. Mangione (PA State), 423 Allegheny Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648

So it seems the PA case may be in November.

Technically he was caught with a bag which then broke chain of custody and was subsiquently found to contain those items. Which leaves just being there and being edgey on the internet as evidence that wouldn't be immediately thrown out in any normal trial.

If that's all you've got, though, that's not enough to convict on

$10,000 cash? I thought they found a bag with monopoly money? And what online history of promoting violence?
