This will have no impact on my permanent boycott of EA products.

y0kai@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 337d (3 replies)

I play their free games because i assume it costs them money for the license and every time I download something from their servers.

MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 337d

I just treat all of their offerings, regardless of cost, as polonium.

warmaster@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 337d

They sell the data collected from your activity to data brokers and in multiplayer games you serve as opponent or ally to paying customers.

If you want to boycott them, avoid them. If you want to play the games that's fine, just be honest to yourself.

jerkface@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 337d

You suppose they're doing it out of love of the game?

Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de · 62 pts · 337d

Them not supporting Linux makes it easy for me to maintain my personal ban on EnshitificationAmalgamated.

gigachad@piefed.social · 31 pts · 337d

Well and I don't support EA, that closes the circle

Necessary but not sufficient.

This is the only thing EA has released in years I was interested in. Wasn’t going to buy it anyways, and now I can’t play it even if I wanted to. I’ll just stick to session and skater XL if I want the skate experience.

Tony Hawk's™ Pro Skater™ 1 + 2 works well on Linux too

newthrowaway20@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 337d (5 replies)

Oh, that's a shame. My desire to try out Bazzite outweighs my desire to play this game, though.

If it's proton compatible, it might still be possible to play on something beefier than a steam deck, maybe?

CubitOom@infosec.pub · 13 pts · 337d (3 replies)

Unfortunately, the issue is with the kernel-level EA Javelin anticheat.

You don't

pineapplelover@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 337d

Yes

Junkers_Klunker@feddit.dk · 5 pts · 337d

Bazzite is great, EA not so much.

FuyuhikoDate@feddit.org · 9 pts · 337d

Full Circle / EA...

And that is the moment where I usually stop reading 🤣

JoeKrogan@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 337d (3 replies)

Skate 3 works in xenia to scratch the itch.

InvestBurnout@fedia.io · 7 pts · 337d (2 replies)

And it also works in RPCS3!

Ghoelian@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 337d (1 reply)

Do you know which of those two is the most accurate? I kinda want to play skate 3 now lol

kilgore_trout@feddit.it · 1 pts · 337d

I have played Kingdom Hearts and Persona 4 on RPCS3 before, with no issue.

What’s the excuse there?

Same thing as always, money

domdanial@reddthat.com · 1 pts · 335d (1 reply)

You can emulate android on Linux right? Would that be a way to run it? Not that I would really endorse still giving them money for the headache

They can keep it. No need to buy what they f-ck up.

Jaysyn@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 329d

Well that's ok, because I don't buy EA games anyhow.

another_kbin_addict@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 333d

Skate 2 and 3 sure are fun.
