Fascism always turns inward when they run out of enemies.
The ‘first they came for’ poem shows that. The circle always gets smaller, until they cannibalise themselves. If you think you’re safe, you’re not. It won’t be long before they come for you. No amount of conformity will ever be enough.
By the time they come for me, they will be suffering from Kuru from all the cannibalism they did. And I will probably be part of a very angry whole-ass army, that will show them what real "freeing the shit out of" looks like.
Just like once before, but they pretend that didn't happen.
If this wasn’t true, Elon musk, bill gates, and every other billionaire you’ve ever heard of would have retired before they became famous for being rich.
Dehumanizing and creating enemies is a large part of what fascism does.
Liberals like liberty. Conservatives want to conserve the rate of change. Libertarians look for liberty from government interference, anarchists don't like coercive relationships.
And fascists look for and create enemies. That is a big part of their identity.
That's a lie conservatives tell to whitewash their ideology. Their real goal is creating and establishing hierarchy, and they will absolutely make rapid radical changes to accomplish that if they think they can get away with them.
Right? No sarcasm: I'm so fucking happy every day of my life. I've got so much to be grateful for.
I miss not having this crushing weight in the back of my mind that the world is backwards and humanity is doomed. I miss being able to trust that adults were in charge, and things were generally improving. It's sad that my kids won't know that comfort.
But I've got kids. They're beautiful and I love them so much. I'm still able to give them a wonderful childhood for now. I can be upset about the state the world, but I've got no right to be ungrateful.

Life will suck until we die. Nothing can ever be enjoyed. Just constant struggle against the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet.

I disagree with this so hard. You have permission to go out there and find enjoyment my friend

I know. Which is why I think this meme is bullshit since the first time I saw it. If we never get to enjoy anything, what’s the point of fighting?

Okay. So are you going to do anything about it? Realizing the futility of it all can be an opportunity to find your own meaning to life.
