I don't see how those landing barges would work. They're giant targets and would only be safe from attack if the sea, air, and island were already subdued, but then you wouldn't need them. Are they actually for post-invasion delivery of materials?
Think Normandy. Yes, alone they'd be huge targets, but when you've also got ships shelling the coast and anti-air batteries, plus bombers bombing the anti-air and fighters and attack aircraft tying up Taiwan's other air defenses, then you can land on the beach with marines and these craft.
I assume the plan is to throw dozens or hundreds of them at the coast in hope a few manage to get through. Mini normandy invasion effectively, although anti-ship weaponry has come a long way since then.
