Same with glass. If it's at least a few mm thick, it's gonna look the same until it turns red. I've (temporarily) lost a couple finger prints not being careful.

Weirdly I've never stripped out an allen fastener, I've only ever rounded my allen wrenches. Maybe I need to buy better allen wrenches.
