I'm not so sure people are buying into AI videos. I watch a lot of YouTube shorts in the evenings and immediately downvote and scroll past the AI crap. I don't mind a still here and there to illustrate a point, but the whole video? I'm not half the AI hater most y'all are, but seeing those videos makes me flinch internally. And they always have that fake voice that's the modern equivalent of the transatlantic accent. Fuck me I hate that voice.
But that's just my opinion, right? Funny thing, those videos have really, really low upvotes. I haven't noted a single one that get any traction at all. YouTube may be flooded with AI, but people don't seem to be liking it. OTOH, from the sound of it, that crap is about all my little kids watch. 🤷🏻
I think that most people care enough that media is not entirely made up of AI. Even in the churn of cesspits like tiktok and instagram, where the fools circlejerk to hell, AI is generally not regarded well.
I think people still want people behind the wheel. I speaking out of my ass, but I think that we crave human interaction even when they are parasocial relationships.
Their videos always look good, but leave me somewhat empty. It's a glossy, polished production on topics you might know enough of the details already, or are better off finding someone more competent and longer-form video/information.
Also this whole video is very clickbait-y. Do finish it, and you'll see how it basically transforms into an ad, while their premise that AI is killing their channel is somewhat paper-thin - they're a pretty famous and high-traffic channel, have their eye-grabbing and unique graphics going for them.
yeah, just put out accusations and false information online with no source whatsoever. This is exactly what they are talking about and you are fueling it.
No idea about that, but I stopped watching them once I realized that, at least for their speculative topics, they just pull things out of their arse and present it with the same definitivity as the actually well-researched parts. Once you notice, it's hard to stop noticing.

What's happened to Facebook should make it clear that these platforms don't care what the content is as long as the advertisers will still pay.

That’ll quickly stop when the people stop visiting.
AI doesn’t buy products.

Not just that, but on larger timescales, running out of organic training data.
It's short term thinking all around.

That’s modern capitalism for you.

They AI companies are well aware of these issues. They're all scrambling for the fat bags of money before consequences hit.

I watch almost all their videos, this just screamed of click bait and then it was recommended to me over and over and over.

Watched a couple minutes which is about my limit but this vid actually looks good. Will try to watch some more of it later.
