Dupe glitch, devs forgot to make the coffee in the microwave despawn if you don’t complete the action

Dohnuthut@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 298d

This was my coworker at my old job. I'd go to open the microwave to reheat my lunch and find her coffee cup there from earlier. It became a running joke whenever she couldn't find something to check the microwave.

Great, now I gave to check for hidden cameras, this happened to me yesterday.

You, sir, might have ADHD. Because I do the exact same thing.

My wife found my fat sausage in the microwave just minutes ago. I was going to have it for dinner but forgot all about it and swallowed an entirely different sausage instead

I think there might be something else distracting you

DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 298d

It's a gas leak, according to Reddit.

Seriously, what is the line between the loss of focus due to depression, and the inability to focus due to ADHD.

Because I got diagnosed with depression late in life (far too late, quite frankly...long after it had already messed up my life/future/etc...)

But yet, my symptoms are constantly showing up in ADHD memes.

I'm very very confused.

Isa@feddit.org · 2 pts · 297d

The symptoms of both can be quite similar, I heard. That might be, why it is seems advisable to deal with the symptoms of depression before checking up people for ADHD. The point is, I'd say, that one can be depressive but not neurodivers and show this behaviour. Or one might have ADHD and show this behaviour, without being depressive. Or one might have both … or something complete different and still show this behaviour. A symptom alone might have quite different causes.

The same happened to me with some beans. Put the beans on the microwave and while it warm smoke some weed. Forgot about it,then was hungry as hell to serve mode beans just to find the other still warm on the microphone.

SolacefromSilence@fedia.io · 2 pts · 298d

Serve mode also has me spitting beans on that mike. Let's hear ya mix tape son

Reminds me of Triangle every time.

Isa@feddit.org · 2 pts · 297d

Creepy! 😱 Haven't seen that movie (I think), though the beginning somehow sounds familiar to me … 🫣

thatradomguy@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 298d

No wait, I've seen this Star Trek ep before.

OrteilGenou@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 298d

You need to drink more coffee

ininewcrow@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 298d

They forgot to despawn you .... you are now an anomaly to the current version of yourself

TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 298d (2 replies)

Put a metal spoon in the coffee to heat it up more evenly. Sounds weird, metal in the microwave, but it doesn't spark when it's in liquid.

filcuk@lemmy.zip · 6 pts · 298d

Metal doesn't generaly cause issues in the microwave unless there are sharp corners.
The whole inside of the microwave is metal (*you will notice curves and round corners everywhere, as well as surfaces made to specific angles).
It does reflect the waves, however, which can mess with the heating distribution.

DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social · 3 pts · 297d

Or you could just stir it afterwards with that spoon.
