At a certain point there just won't be pushback.
They continue to disobey judges orders, and whether becuase they want to hold up the facade or are complicit the judges don't even try to get their rulings enforced.
I think it's because they feel like this is similar to stocks where if they realize the losses they'll be real.
Id like to hope it's because blue senators are still figuring out how to band together to ensure enforcement but.... I have little hope, especially given that red states physically divide blue steps and not the other way around.
The rules and procedures no longer apply. If they want to, ICE will just be told to grab him and disappear him before anyone can even think about the legalities.
And by the time anyone can actually draw up documents to charge ANYONE, he could be on the tarmac in a foreign country, which makes even contacting him a State Department matter.
Do they want all of New York to rise up against the government? Do they want all of New York to raid the detention center they would be holding Mamdani in, set him free, and THEN burn it down for good measure?
Do not fuck with New Yorkers when they want to do something.

Staten Island is full of fascists. Lower Manhattan is flush with empty suits and useful idiots. Queens is stacked with Cuomo supporters. A lot of folks in NYC would be pissed. But "all"?
That's voter turnout, for sure. But it's a far cry from gross popular support. Fascists just don't have anyone to vote for in the race, so they're staying home.
Yes and no. There are also many examples of brave Americans standing up for what they know to be right. And especially don't underestimate New Yorkers.
Filming someone being kidnapped by the Gestapo is exactly the line of not sticking your head out. Frankly, you'll need to see city official/state official level resistance to be of note.
There ARE people fighting. Just yesterday I saw multiple videos of people literally BITCHING ICE agents with nothing but their very angry words. Mfs were straight up SCARED despite being the guys with guns.
There was one video in particular where the person screaming at them was quite literally saying "I will die for this shit, I don't care if you fucking shoot me, get the fuck out of my town" and the ICE agents were so flabbergasted by this they just walked away to their car and left.
People are literally pulling THIS on ICE agents and SUCCEEDING. They're pussies. They can't fathom the idea of someone dying for their ideals and for the betterment of humanity.
In this case it's both. Both side's old school oligarchs are scared shitless of his popularity and socialist ideas. The conservatives just also hate his color.
