Got myself Arc Raiders for my birthday. So much fun. Just need one goddamn lemon but it's so hard...

I played the recent server slam beta and the sound design is great. I solo'd everything though so once I got downed that was it. It would be great with a squad or if they added the ability to self revive

I have been to the gym, met a friend for coffee and done my weekly shop.

Much productivity, so now many relax

The cheese in those packs is real-ly nasty stuff. I bought by mistake once and threw 5 and 1/2 packs in the bin.

Miniest has been saving her money for rollerskates, so a trip to one of the local shopping centres was in order. Geez that sun's got a kick to it! Now I have a small child awkwardly but happily rolling around the house ๐Ÿคฃ

Had a mate over that I've known since high school. We came up together in bands and music in general.

Fuck it's good to catch up with him :)

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 289d

That's cool. :)

Big afternoon of washing up outside - washed the car, windows and my very dirty undercover area and outdoor furniture. Now I can actually sit outside and enjoy a beer ๐Ÿบ

Next task is hanging up some fairy lights in my undercover area, itโ€™s a decent size so thinking about best way to go about it. And how many lights Iโ€™ll need.

New soil and tomatoes are in! watering system for the stupid grass tree (even though it does look nice) in. Found a 50cm tall apricot tree in the veggie patch (which is next to a mature one). Had no idea what it was until now lol. Not gonna bother grafting it so just transplanted it as is and hope for the best assuming the worst.

The kids loved this toddler muesli bar that disappeared off the shelves recently. Turns out they're two thirds sugar so that explains why they were so popular and probably why they stopped being made

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 290d (1 reply)

I just bought some bar molds to make my own. You could make an event of it with the kids tweaking the flavours. Nuts, oats, dates and coccoa are good base ingredients. I used to make caramel to drizzle over them for a bit of sweetness.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 290d

That's, a good idea. The boys like making smoothies so s could be part of the process

Theres a fly in the house and all hell is breaking loose lol

I wonder if they also work for moths. Have a few in the pantry that isn't helping me sleep at night.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 290d

Oh yeah it does. Moths die more easier than flies.

Went to [redacted cafe] for a cocktail and they had a staff member dressed like a nazi, red swastika arm band and all. I raised issue and I think they hid until we left.

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 290d

Glad you raised issue. Choices come with consequences.

Man some people really don't know how to make good choices.

Taleya@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 290d (1 reply)

Yeah....Chances are that wasn't a costume

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 290d

It looked pretty home made. It was a younger person and kinda petite so I tried to politely tell them they shouldn't be wearing that. I was also concerned that if they're just an idiot, someone more punk rock than me might hit them with a brick. I just finished up and left.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 290d

What the hellโ€ฆ I fail to understand the thought process. Even if it was due to Halloween they should know thatโ€™s a no go

Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 290d

Mmmm , perhaps not a good choice

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 290d (2 replies)

maybe the costumes of past Halloweens were just as terrifying and offensive to the people then, us now, we just don't believe in the devil or ghosts anymore

iow, it's meant to be offensive scary , not something we are meant to agree with

but we live now and people don't understand halloween anymore, so it's definitely inappropriate

TheWitchofThornbury2@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 290d (1 reply)

You're absolutely right about the costumes. It's one of the reasons I have an issue with the whole trick or treat thing. The watering down of something serious and important into flimsy plastic costumes and candy.

If interested, you might want to read up on the Mari Llwd - thoroughly pagan, intended to terrify, and also intended to remind the power-holders that the great unwashed also held power over them and the means of production. Even if that power was confined to just one day a year. Christianity turned the Mari Llwd into hobby horses and rocking horses, yet the folksong Widdicombe Fair still reminds us of some of it's original power and might.

Part of my dream that I remembered was using a photocopier at work. Between pages I looked through the glass and saw a tiny human spy taking photos of everything I was copying.

_deleted_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 290d

I dreamed again that I was at work and couldnโ€™t find my laptop. Someone had taken the monitor from my desktop and I couldnโ€™t remember what floor I worked on. Whenever I dream about work, I always have a weird keyboard layout that isnโ€™t Dvorak (which I normally use).

I havenโ€™t worked for nearly five years.

Drove over to Geelong for cheese train, ended up at a gem show! So cool to hear everyone geeking out and how each of the stalls had their own niche interest. Plus the canteen had fresh made scones, but I was sadly too full from cheese train.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 290d (3 replies)

Cheese Train is such a lovely song.

Now I've been happy lately

Thinkin' about good cheese on the train

And I believe it could be

Some good cheese I'll eat again

Oh, I've been smilin' lately

Dreamin' about the cheese train

And I believe it could be

Some cheese I'm going to obtain

Oh, cheese train take this hunger

Come take me home again

Great service from BCF these past couple of days.

First I saw they were doing $20 off orders over $100, so I found 2 fishing shirts that could pass as business shirts. Then on signup I got $5 credit that stacked with the discount.

The shirts were on clearance so they could only be picked up from a store with local stock, that was fine, whatever.

But then the shirts arrived in the mail, and they were still telling me to go collect my order.

So we rocked up to the BCF today and they couldn't find the order, so I could pick any two items from the clearance section regardless of price. So I pick out two more shirts similar to the ones I got. Then at the register, not only did I get these two extra shirts, but a further $3 refund on the original purchase price.

So, brilliant service from BCF. Definitely my go to fishing store I would recommend to anyone here.

Feeling so heavy and stuck today. Lying in bed doing heel slides and hip bridges, keep losing concentration while trying to watch movies.

Iโ€™ve double cleaned some spots where Melbcat vommed this week and put the sproots out to start getting used to outside but thatโ€™s about as productive as today has been.

Melbcat has cooked herself in the sun and moved into the shade to cool off.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 290d
