She sold merch at his funeral.

ZoteTheMighty@lemmy.zip · 45 pts · 303d

I suppose, in a way, this accurately embodies Charlie Kirk's legacy.

O Me! O Life!
That the powerful grift goes on, and you may contribute

Laser@feddit.org · 14 pts · 303d

Don't let a little assassination of your spouse get into the way of a good grift.

resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world · 25 pts · 303d

Not even death can stop the grift.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 303d

she selling her body to vance now.

Can I just say after processing Kirk’s assassination. The world does feel a tiny bit better without him in it

The stock market rallies hardcore whenever a MAGAt gets what they deserve... Just saying

HK65@sopuli.xyz · 11 pts · 303d

Yeah but that's because they know that it can be used as a smokescreen to put the orphan crushing machine into overdrive

devolution@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 303d (1 reply)

Is it wrong of me to feel like as a Christian, my faith has been shaky for years but Kirk's death actually strengthened it? Like I believed God actually, periodically, smites the wicked?

Bytemeister@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 303d

God didn't smite shit. A guy with a gun shot him in the neck. That's a mundane intervention if I've ever seen one.

MrSmiley@lemmy.zip · 91 pts · 304d (4 replies)

If you ever listen to Vance’s rhetoric, it’s white nationalist coded, I’m actually surprised he hasn’t dropped a “blood and soil” reference yet. His team probably looked at some opinion polls of the white Christian nationalists and decided he needs to dump the brown wife and kids to position himself as their leader.

chisel@piefed.social · 92 pts · 304d (1 reply)

If you ever listen to Vance

Imma stop you right there. You lost me.

Wasn't he just saying he wishes his wife were Christian?

Trump himself said the migrants are poisoning the blood of the country.

Fizz@lemmy.nz · 48 pts · 304d (12 replies)

Wtf is going on here. Why is she standing on the casket and why is Vance motor boating her

Gladaed@feddit.org · 34 pts · 304d (6 replies)

Ai

0ops@piefed.zip · 22 pts · 303d (5 replies)

Nah that's just photoshop

jj4211@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 303d

The poster said it was ai...

Gladaed@feddit.org · -35 pts · 303d (3 replies)

Photoshop tools are AI/ML tools. But you might be still correct in spirit

chuckleslord@lemmy.world · 18 pts · 303d (2 replies)

Dude. There's a big difference between using dynamite to move rock, and blowing a whole bunch of dynamite indiscriminately in a neighborhood. Yeah, photoshop might use ai for some stuff, but it's not the same thing as an AI generated image

Gladaed@feddit.org · -13 pts · 303d (1 reply)

Yes, hence I wrote that you are correct in spirit. Guess I have become an old man who calls ml what was ml before the current wave.

oascany@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 303d

You can so easily do this without using photoshop's machine learning tools. Photoshop is not ML, some of its tools are. You're not just an old man, you're incorrect.

x00z@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 303d

Also, why is he a vampire with no shadow?

criss_cross@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 303d

Right? He saves motorboating for his finest loveseat.

al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com · -34 pts · 304d (2 replies)

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed in you. Unless your drunk or sick this one is pretty obvious. Pretty sad I have to make the same reply to multiple comments in a thread.

Fizz@lemmy.nz · 30 pts · 304d (1 reply)

I am drunk as fuck

athatet@lemmy.zip · 5 pts · 303d

And also sick as fuck 🤙

Substance_P@lemmy.world · 36 pts · 303d (1 reply)

The original poster was also shocked that people thought it was an original photo and not AI. She went ahead and posted this.

victorz@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 303d

Well worded. Standing on someone's coffin alone should make you think twice.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 304d (11 replies)

The fuck? This is a real photo?

fahfahfahfah@lemmy.billiam.net · 24 pts · 304d (4 replies)

It’s not, there’s no shadow of the coffin

d00phy@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 303d

Not to mention the shadow of the humans is… slenderman?

hovercat@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 303d (2 replies)

I think given it's a high angle light, it's cut off at the bottom of the stage

fahfahfahfah@lemmy.billiam.net · 11 pts · 303d

I mean it’s also a picture of the vice president of the United States motor-boating the widow of a prominent political figure while she stands on his coffin which — while we do live in a time of insane things happening in the American political landscape — really probably didn’t happen.

madjo@feddit.nl · 2 pts · 303d

So the shadows of two people in "embrace" form a pregnant woman?

Stabbitha@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 303d (2 replies)

How do you people function on a day-to-day basis?

Yes, this is a totally real photo. Erika Kirk stood on her husband's casket getting motorboated by the vice president of the US while their shadows merged into one. This is definitely an event that would absolutely happen.

/s because obviously you need it.

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 303d

There are some people on this platform that absolutely cannot pick satire to save their own lives, and there are some who are just plain stupid.

The person you replied to is likely both.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 0 pts · 303d

Have you been paying attention to reality lately? Weirder shit happens every day.

After posting the comment, I looked at the pic again and yeah it looked odd, but I wasn't going to delete my comment over it.

Also, if the lighting was at an angle, the shadows could have combined like that. It was the jumbled up text in the background that raised my eyebrow.

Gudl@feddit.org · 4 pts · 304d

Yea. Look at the Shadow

al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com · -25 pts · 304d (1 reply)

thank you

Beebabe@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 303d (5 replies)

I like to think many of us single people have a lot to offer, but we have standards. These humans are insufferable. Better to be alone than anywhere near them.

1985MustangCobra@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 303d (4 replies)

i mean i like to say i do but clearly no one else sees that

Beebabe@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 303d (3 replies)

Wish there was something positive I could say. Until recently I thought a good career, income, and staying put together would help me. But the only people interested are the one-night types and yeah…absolutely-fucking-lutely not.

The upside is many cats!

1985MustangCobra@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 303d (2 replies)

yeah for me, my issue is i have BPD, so im on disability, after being kicked out by my ex, having to live with my parents until magically the rental market goes down, and also not being allowed to drive (also of course not being able to afford it). i literally check off no boxes other than my personality of being a nice person and can be social in the right situations

Beebabe@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 303d (1 reply)

Being borderline is the most painful condition. Maintaining your kindness at the same time…best of luck, friend.

rayyy@piefed.social · 7 pts · 303d

DioramaOfShit@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 302d

I mean, I wouldn't grieve either

WoodScientist@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 302d (3 replies)

If she was a real trad wife she would have married Charlie's brother. That's some true trad wife behavior.

Eh_I@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 302d (2 replies)

That’s some true trad wife behavior.

Tudor wife behavior 😉

WoodScientist@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 302d (1 reply)

Tudor? It still happens now. The family my parents bought their house from? Big traditional Mormon family. The family had 6 boys and one girl. One of the older brothers was married and unfortunately died young. His younger brother married his widow. This was in the US in the 1990s. A younger brother marrying the widow of an older brother is an ancient tradition. See Levirate marriage.

Potatar@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 303d

Isn't it "'till death do us part"? (until 1 minute ago, I always thought it was apart lol)

Anyone seen the movie "Double cross" (2018 I think) ? #justthinking

CackNClap@infosec.pub · 3 pts · 303d (4 replies)

I detest these people and I understand calling out their hypocrisy. Is there anything to be said for not policing how a woman is supposed to grieve publicly though? There's plenty wrong about the shameless exploitation of Kirk's death, but something about the current narrative feels gross. Stooping to their level? I mean yeah, maybe you could infer their relationship was shallow and transactional, but like, is this really a gotcha moment that we care about?

InputZero@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 303d (1 reply)

When they go low, we go high didn't work so... Yeah it might be time to stoop to their level. Unless there's a better idea, that isn't taking the high road cause that doesn't work anymore.

CackNClap@infosec.pub · 2 pts · 302d

I see your point alright, I can't say I've much heart to argue my point TBH. The village gossip vibe isn't for me but enjoy!

phoenixz@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 302d (1 reply)

In principle, i agree with you.

You already feel tbe "but...." coming in.

But these people relish in hatred. If (more to the point, when) roles are reversed, this is what they do and they enjoy doing it. They laugh about the suffering of others, they make fun of the suffering of others.

I don't know this woman at all, I don't know her name, I don't know her views, thoughts, politics, or even what suffering she's going through

However, she is not only a Christian Republican tradwife, she is the Christian Republican tradwife of one of the lowest, most hateful figures out there. I think it's very fair to assume she is a horrible hateful person because of course she is: she is a Christian Republican. And the wife of one of the more hateful speakers out there.

I feel no pity for this woman, I do not believe anyone should have mercy for her, she wouldn't have it for us.

CackNClap@infosec.pub · 1 pts · 302d

Yeah I get you, I think my discomfort is more of a general thing than this particular situation. I think it's like making fun of someone's physical features when someone nice may also have those features. Or like an effeminate male homophobe deserves to be mocked but you risk repeating things people who've been bullied for being effeminate have been hurt by. Maybe not a hill to die on but I try to avoid it myself.
