I disagree - endorsing 3 sexual predators is actually quite a lot.

Also weird he didn't deny it.

zarkanian@sh.itjust.works · 71 pts · 292d (1 reply)

Weird that he can't think of something better.

Fedizen@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 292d

What is he going to do? Not endorse the extremely relatable sex pest?

edgemaster72@lemmy.world · 167 pts · 292d (16 replies)

He had 20 hours to think of a response, and that's what he came up with? How the hell did anyone think he was smart?

MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net · 269 pts · 292d (8 replies)

evasive_chimpanzee@lemmy.world · 72 pts · 292d (7 replies)

You ever wonder why the other billionaires with space companies have actually flown on their companies vehicles and he hasn't?

I bet he doesn't let his car autopilot him either.

halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world · 27 pts · 292d (5 replies)

To be fair, SpaceX isn't selling amusement park ride tickets on suborbital flights to the highest bidders like those competitors are. They aren't really comparable.

Draces@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 292d (4 replies)

They put a Tesla in orbit. If he trusted them and wasn't spineless he absolutely would

bear@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 9 pts · 292d

He might believe he's burned too many bridges with apaceX engineers and launch techs. If he was on board, one of them might take an opportunity....

halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 292d (2 replies)

That was marketing. The alternative would have been a generic mass simulator, basically just a large block of metal.

The car gets headlines and people remember it. You obviously did.

Draces@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 292d (1 reply)

That's my point? Him going up himself would be marketing

yeather@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 291d

That particular mission did not have a return module. The car is still up there somewhere. To anticipate the next comment yes I know it would still be an improvement.

frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 13 pts · 291d

The man-rated Falcon 9 is good enough for NASA. NASA does not have low standards on these sorts of things.

Honestly, SpaceX is the only one of those that is doing actual work. Most of the others aren't much more than tourist rides at this point.

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 16 pts · 292d (2 replies)

Do you have a better suggestion?

"Heh heh, gottem!"

zarkanian@sh.itjust.works · 19 pts · 292d

Yeah, I do have a better suggestion. Vote Mamdani. Done.

I'm not expecting clear thinking from the guy who sieg heiled on national TV, though.

Almacca@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 292d

He thinks he's a real wit, but I think he's only half right.

hperrin@lemmy.ca · 14 pts · 292d

Stupid people think he’s smart because he uses a lot of jargon.

hayvan@feddit.nl · 9 pts · 292d

He's rich so he must be very smart and a moral ideal.

simulacra_procession@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 291d

He had just woken up from his k-hole nap okay? Sheesh

I find it incredibly funny that everyone seems to forget or intentionally ignore that Sliwa is also running

he's that much of a goofball that the Republicans won't support him even though he's the literal official Republican candidate lmfao

jjjalljs@ttrpg.network · 91 pts · 292d (1 reply)

Maybe if Sliwa did some crimes, preferably with sexual assault or high finance, republicans would respect him more.

I have a dangerous feeling: hope

Is it possible that 'Murica is capable of maturing a tiny bit and making a choice that will actually benefit society rather than a few rich white men?

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 23 pts · 292d (1 reply)

FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com · 8 pts · 292d

Yeah, I feel you

anomnom@sh.itjust.works · 20 pts · 292d (1 reply)

Me too, but it's only hope for NYC, which doesn't really help much of the rest of the country as much. Maybe he'll keep Trump busy, but he'll probably just use it as another distraction while hurting everyone.

It is hopeful if it signals a trend though, we need it to.

FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com · 14 pts · 292d

That's why hope is so dangerous

The civilised world sneers at 'Murica for good reason

We keep seeing them deliberately choose cruelty

zarkanian@sh.itjust.works · 14 pts · 292d

Both parties are going to fight him on everything, so he's going to have to rally the people behind him. Fortunately, he seems to be pretty good at that.

timbuck2themoon@sh.itjust.works · 12 pts · 292d (3 replies)

The problem with America is people wake up then immediately go back to sleep.

Maybe voting EVERY DAMN TIME will catch on at some point.

FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com · 9 pts · 292d (2 replies)

Compulsory voting is one of the best things about my country

timbuck2themoon@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 291d (1 reply)

And studies show that not only does it increase participation obviously but that people actually do take the time to research and vote for candidates with views that align with theirs.

FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com · 3 pts · 291d

Yep

The only people opposed to it are those who stand to gain without it and the stupid

dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 291d

It's entirely possible. If we consider that much of what the GOP has accomplished has been through propaganda, it suggests that things wouldn't have gone their way if they played this game honestly. Personally, I see the last 30 years of federal politics as a wild pendulum swing, between battling ideologies in multiple directions, only becoming more energetic. I'm hopeful that this will eventually break down the brittle, false, manufactured narratives out there because it will take ever more effort to keep all that going. I have hope too.

Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works · 18 pts · 292d (1 reply)

I'd love to see him win by a massive amount, like 2/3 majority. That way nobody can argue he doesn't have any support.

AtariDump@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 291d

50.4% to 41.6%; I’d say that’s pretty good.

Blackmist@feddit.uk · 61 pts · 291d (5 replies)

Pretending he doesn't know how his name is spelled, as if Mamdani hasn't spent the last months living rent free in Musk's head.

UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 291d

He might have soft censored the correct spelling and now needs to tiptoe around it

Sort of like how he bans anyone who uses "cisgender"

Elon has neither.

Credibly_Human@lemmy.world · 0 pts · 291d

It commonly is, because it's logical and they understand it. When will the criminally online leftists get that too?

The goal is not to have your balls tickled by politicians, it's to do the best you can with what you have availible.

You aren't eating the rich any time soon, so you vote for change in primaries, local and state politics, and fall in line for elections, senate races (where it's too close).

Quill7513@slrpnk.net · 30 pts · 291d (4 replies)

there's a lot of morons who think staying on twitter while being leftish is an act of defiance and not providing the nazi bot farm the engagement it needs to perpetuate its evil. they make false equivalency comparisons saying things like leaving twitter is like fleeing a country, abandoning the people without the resources to flee. the problem with that argument is EVERYONE has the resources to leave twitter. no one is trapped on twitter, forced to stay (though the department of homeland security is surely trying by demanding all immigrants show their major social media platform posting history)

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 291d (1 reply)

It only benefits Xitter because without left-leaning people on the platform to abuse, the Nazi engagement would dry up.

Tollana1234567@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 291d

theres still too much brands on there that havnt left the platform.

pelespirit@sh.itjust.works MOD · 4 pts · 292d (3 replies)

It's further down in the comments, one of the users came through. FYI, I usually let the moderator post go to user so it doesn't stay at the top. I prefer it to not take over the thread. Look further in and/or report it and I'll take a look at it in the *future. Thanks for looking out though.

lmmarsano@lemmynsfw.com · 2 pts · 292d (2 replies)

Ought to be the post itself: anyone can correct their own post & expecting the user to go on a fishing expedition in the comments to trust someone else isn't accessible & raises a number of complications. Therefore, even if a moderator is satisfied, it's deficient, so my objection stands.

pelespirit@sh.itjust.works MOD · 1 pts · 291d (1 reply)

This isn't a high security, government building. People forget or don't know how to change their post. There are much bigger things in this world to worry about.

If someone forgets or their mobile app doesn't show access to the sidebar easily, please help them out and post the archive link. This is a community.

lmmarsano@lemmynsfw.com · 1 pts · 291d

I don't think you're duly considering the predicament for people who can't see & who will be less sure a link in the comments is right if they find it. Some call it empathy, I call it imagination. The best help is to correct the post.

I was tired af, I was sleeping along another friend, we went to sleep late the night before, when suddenly, at fuckin 7am somebody wake up us, saying that someone important have arrived to the event. Was a guy who "worked along" Elon Musk. The man was like the 10th guy in the red thread that connected him and Elon. The guy got us listen to him like one hour and half, time that we see like lost time, we were tired, we had pizza for dinner the night before and then some random guy came to say that had worked along Elon Musk and got us one hour and half showing off that lame utter fact
