Tim Burtis, the Republican legislature chairman, said there was a blue wave nationwide.

“I think that times are changing here, are far as the party goes,” he said. “Voters are sending us a message. So I think that’s been heard loud and clear.”

Onondaga county is in New York. It is located near the geographic centre of the state of New York, and has a population of around 500 thousand people. Syracuse both the county seat and only city in the county.
