He's pissed that he's not getting all the attention

Senseless@feddit.org · 32 pts · 288d

This, but unironically.

Rothe@piefed.social · 23 pts · 288d

That is indeed how malignant pathological narcissism works.

RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 287d (1 reply)

“Why did that asshole pass out right now? Couldn’t he have done it elsewhere? Can you get him out of here?”

paperazzi@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 287d

In his first term, someone coughed and that's almost exactly how he reacted.

No no you dont understand. He watches that very well. He is doing exactly what he wanted. Gain power, loot it blank, leaving nothing behind, and run off

Here's Obama turning around mid-speech to catch a fainting pregnant woman

nkat2112@sh.itjust.works · 31 pts · 287d (4 replies)

This is an amazing photograph.

And what a stark contrast it presents with the picture in the post. Thank you for including this picture.

RattlerSix@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 287d (3 replies)

Here's video of it too. "I gotcha. You're ok. (to microphone) This is what happens when I talk too long"

https://youtu.be/2X10yt_6JrA

Sir_Kevin@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 18 pts · 287d (1 reply)

Notice how he didn't rant about himself being "a hero" or bring this up again later, how he "saved a pregnant woman single handedly". No, he thanked the people around him.

RattlerSix@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 287d

And turning to grab her "here you go, you're ok, I'm right here, I gotcha, you're ok" and to microphone "This is what happens when I talk too long"

GraniteM@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 287d

Obama is familiar with the signs of women going weak in the knees in his proximity.

absentbird@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 287d

He wasn't perfect, but damn if he wasn't cool. I miss the way things felt under Obama.

Reverendender@sh.itjust.works · 51 pts · 288d (6 replies)

This is hands down one of the most disturbing images I have ever seen.

Rothe@piefed.social · 22 pts · 288d (2 replies)

The one where he grins and thumbs up while holding the baby orphan, whose parents had just been killed by a Trump loving murderer tops this. Slightly.

Yondoza@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 288d (1 reply)

.... What??? Can I get a link so I can ruin my morning a bit more?

Reverendender@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 287d

Same. I am unfamiliar with this image, and am craving some existential loathing and horror.

danekrae@lemmy.world · -16 pts · 288d (2 replies)

You haven't seen a lot of images from Gaza then? This image is fucking creepy, but come on...

Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 18 pts · 288d

This being ONE OF the most disturbing ones doesn't in any way dismiss how disturbing some from Gaza are.

GTFO with your ridiculous whataboutism and let people have reactions without demanding that they pivot to something unrelated.

I know it’s easy to see a still image with no context and assume the worst. Below is a YouTube video showing the entire scene.

Trump did get up when it happened and went over to look at the man. Everyone was already handling it and he turned back around and that’s the still image.

He even updated the press at the end explaining that the man got light headed but was okay.

telllos@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 288d

Trump, looks absolutely unconcerned, the way he looks over at the guy on the floor, is really really how someone looks at a dead animal on the side of the road. He looks borderline annoyed.

Vorticity@lemmy.world · 16 pts · 288d (2 replies)

Thank you. I really wish people would quit making things up and taking things out of context. There is enough awful stuff going on. Adding fake and out of context junk just makes it harder to get people to believe the real problems when they're shown.

floofloof@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 287d

I don't see anything in the video that suggests his reaction is misrepresented in the picture. He stares at the man with apparent frustration and contempt for a few seconds then turns away as shown in the photo.

nkat2112@sh.itjust.works · 4 pts · 287d

But it might still be deemed noteworthy if the misinterpretation stemming from this picture happens to be well aligned with the reality of all the horror caused by Trump.

D_C@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 287d

Well he's got form for ignoring people who have hurt themselves. Search up about what he did when an 80 year old guy fell over, hit his head and was bleeding all over the floor.

::: spoiler spoiler He turned away, but commented how it was disgusting. And that his "beautiful marble" was changing colour... :::

Rentlar@lemmy.ca · 34 pts · 288d

This scene is definitely going to get dramaticized in the future movie/documentary about Trump. Maybe just a 3 second unmentioned reference, maybe with context, who knows.

leadore@lemmy.world · 23 pts · 288d

He can't look at it because he has a psychological issue where he can't handle any kind of bodily injury or illness. There are lots of stories about his reactions to situations like this, seeing blood, seeing disabled vets or anyone with a physical impairment of any kind, etc.

Sociopath or suffering dementia?

D_C@sh.itjust.works · 18 pts · 287d (2 replies)

Yes.

floofloof@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 287d (1 reply)

It's an inclusive "or".

Lifter@discuss.tchncs.de · 2 pts · 287d

Poopie diaper time

nexguy@lemmy.world · 21 pts · 288d (3 replies)

Trump doesn't like to be seen with "weak" people. Veterans in wheelchairs. POWs.

He has been seen with them but only on very rare occasions because he is personally revolted by them.

floofloof@lemmy.ca · 19 pts · 288d (2 replies)
freeman@feddit.org · 5 pts · 288d

Yikes

dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 287d

Fuck me. If that isn't cold hard evidence of sociopathy/psychopathy, I don't know what is. Yeah, blood and wounds can be gross, but your empathy is supposed to override that in the moment. These quotes read like there's zero of that going on - it's just vulgar biology to him.

Leather@lemmy.world · 13 pts · 288d

Looka likes having a really soft shit.

HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 12 pts · 288d (4 replies)
zout@fedia.io · 5 pts · 288d (3 replies)

I'm still going with dementia.

ReiRose@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 288d

Why not both

HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 288d

That’s a newer layer on top

Rothe@piefed.social · 5 pts · 288d

There is no doubt he suffers from malignant narcissism. The dementia is more dubious on account of him also being so incredibly stupid, so it is kinda hard to tell. The narcissism is easy to spot though.

Eternal192@anarchist.nexus · 9 pts · 288d

Oh no! A known douchebag behaving like a douchebag, i would never believe that...

BackwardMonkey@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 288d

He had a nice nap in his chair just before this happened, so he's a bit groggy. He doesn't know what's going on. Even if he understood the situation, he wouldn't have cared.

Makeitstop@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 288d

I'm not saying he isn't enough of a narcissistic sociopath to ignore a medical emergency happening a few feet away... but I'm also not sure that his dementia addled brain is able to process an unexpected event like that as it's happening.

corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca · 5 pts · 288d

He's on his mark and the cue cards are right there. Count him in so he can say the line. The show must go on.

Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 288d

"WHY ARE THE CAMERAS NOT ON ME!!A!!AA!11"

edgemaster72@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 288d

Probably the best thing the person who collapsed could hope for in that moment

FrowingFostek@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 288d

I know this isn't related at all but, all I can picture is Gretchen Whitmer hiding her face behind files and then fainting.

ieatpwns@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 287d

He thinks if he doesn’t acknowledge it fate will pass him up when it’s his turn

Sibbo@sopuli.xyz · 2 pts · 288d (3 replies)

Like Putin would

stoy@lemmy.zip · 10 pts · 288d (1 reply)

Nah, Putin would at least treat the situation tactically, by that I mean that he would watch the scene, making sure no one used the action to try and harm him, then bring his body guards and move to another room.

He would not be ignoring it so completely as Trump is doing.

floofloof@lemmy.ca · 7 pts · 288d

Trump looks like his operating system has crashed. Maybe he's rebooting, maybe he's just frozen.

danekrae@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 288d

Shirt off and have a photo op.
