It’s not a nazi “reference” if the author didn’t know, then it’s a coincidence. It does suck that nazis have ruined otherwise great things though, Tesla for example.
It reminds me if when ISIS (middle eastern terrorist group) ruined the name Isis (Egyptian god, but also person's given name).
The cartoon Archer took the story in a whole new direction in order to disband the show's fictional organisation that was called ISIS (by coincidence). I thought it was such a shame to let real world bad guys ruin things. Surely by caving to that we are giving them more power than if we held the attitude that other people were using that word first and they can't ruin it.
Having said that, the same argument doesn't seem to work all the time. i think the "Hitler" moustache is permanently ruined.
OMG who fucking cares, I'm tired of the entire world being thin skinned bitches.

Look at this random string of characters and become offended.
Look mom I'm a good person.
No you really aren't.
The developer, clearly. Nobody told them to change the name, they're just explaining their reasoning. Nobody complained, the dev just grew to hate the name
Me when I make a post on the blog I own about the reason I changed the name of the free software I make (I'm manufacturing publicity for literally no reason because this software isn't monetized)
Clout chasing have you ever seen the influencers videotaping helping the homeless. Just do it and shut up about it. You could have just changed the final to any other f word in ya brain nobody would ever know. "False-virtue" would have been a good choice.
You know you can just say "yeah, I overreacted. It's perfectly reasonable for someone to write a post on their blog about why they changed the name of the software they develop. I was having a bad day, and shouldn't have taken it out on LGFae."
And instead you're tripling down and calling it clout chasing. He didn't post this on tiktok with #viral in the description. He didn't contact a news agency to report on this decision. He wrote a journal entry on his personal website, and one of his readers shared it on this community because some of us give a shit about the people who write the software we use
Bro because it's pointless narcissism. nobody would have even known. but now we all have wasted so much time, all while old boy fluffs himself about how he didn't know
([x] doubt by the way.)
and changed it because he was a good person now or what nonsense the documentation said.

Dev seems like a good dude with more self awareness than 10 average people combined.

Charlie Chaplin would disagree

Chaplin started using the moustache before Hitler ruined it. Then at some point Chaplin actually lampooned Hitler, which reportedly made Hitler cry.

Yeah, talking with my college friend Isis and my pagan friends who worship Isis was weird enough before the terrorists also took the name.

Or shockingly maybe he was just manufacturing publicly for his software. This statement brought to you by Carls jr.
