Upper Ferntree Gully people both literally and figuratively look down on the people in Ferntree Gully.
Though back in 62 when he was born, it would have still been pretty rustic.
I used to live their for a year during my work and holiday trip to Australia. Coming from the crouded streets of Kathmandu it was quite the culture shock to sudenly live in a place where pedestrans were something you almost never encountered. It felt like i imagine an american suburb to be, without ever having seen one.
