No, I hate cash and love the convenience of card via phone. I just don't think it's fair that if someone chooses to pay via cash, or a lower surcharge card, etc, that they are burdened with the cost of every one else's choice.
I'm happy to pay extra for what's convenient for me and I think this concept of card fees meaning you don't pay the "real cost" is idealogical nonsense, especially when you can get service fees, convenience fees, digital ticket fee, etc, etc. A good change would have been regulating reasonable costs by the bank.
Okay, though if this created a resurgence in the cash economy, I think the government would amend the legislation. A lot of companies might not want to deal with the cost/ risk of handling more cash.
Mostly I expect that the highest card surcharge will become the new price and if there is a cash price, it will just be the current price at best. It really looks like it will just mean higher prices for all consumers and less versatility - the biggest rent payment platform owned by Macquarie bank has already stated they just won't accept cards any more.
Unfortunately the new legislation only stops unforwarding the charge directly, there is nothing to stop the banks and card companies charging the vendor. Prices will likely go up across the board and if you pay cash, you'll technically be paying part of everyone's card surcharge.
I suspect that any attempts to discount for cash will be quashed, if it's not already buried in there.
Hmm, interesting, maybe I've been blacklisted. Though most of my family have ADHD, so more likely one of them brought in the mail and put it "somewhere safe"
But if it's anonymous how do they know you didn't do it?
Besides, I have genuinely not received or seen any official information about when the census is or how to do it - i only know it happened (is happening?) from people i know talking about having done it. How i was even meant to be informed?
Yeah, I hate it, because i genuinely love the premise of the census, but the data can get massively skewed if it's not fully anonymous. Like looking at the US and thinking do you want a chance someone can verify you said you were trans.
What has changed is that it use to be fully anonymous, but now the government can partially re- identify the information to refrence against their other data sets and they keep the information for 99 years instead of 25
So how many years in jail is he getting? Cause I know if i self hosted an AI and it "accidentally" created half as much paedo-porn, I'd be rotting in jail for life, no matter how sincere my apology

Yes, I realise this, my point was that the cost doesn't disappear, it's just hidden
I wouldn't keep stealing Ferraris if they weren't so expensive, so they should cut the cost to something more reasonable and it'll cut the crime rate.
I mean, I agree, but she's kinda setting the tone

They need to correct "car crash" to "vehicular homicide"
States occupant did not press charges
You're not, it's AI

The last few censuses, yes, and originally you could not opt out

I assume this is so the paedophile president can stalk users by age, cause it definitely does nothing to protect kids
