Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Stargazer - Aftershave Serum
Doing sort of a mini austere august with this soap and razor. I'm learning a lot. MdC works great when it's sopping wet, for example (at least with soft water). The razor is something else... I'm getting the feel for it and my shaves are improving, but I just think there's something about this edge that isn't quite right. I've had such dreamy shaves with it in the past, so there must be a way to improve it. Still, I'm too lazy to get the honing stone out again, so I'll just keep plucking away and see what happens.
I rehoned this razor today, and maybe not aggressively enough. Because this is such a pretty razor, and because it cut the packing peanut without any issues when I got it, I didn't check the geometry. However, it turns out that it has a very slight wobble in it. As per the advice by @gcgallant@sub.wetshaving.social, I tried to round off the La Lune slurry stone. Turns out that it takes quite some work rounding off a hard finishing stone. I god impatient and ended it maybe prematurely, but it worked and it produced a slurry without visible scratch marks.
And SV Tundra Artica is great when it's cold outside.
I have a Le Grelot that I purchased new. It, too, had a wobble in it. Mine was small enough that a little spine grinding took care of it. If you can get things sorted, it's a great razor.
Even a small radius on a slurry stone will typically help.

This is a scent that really needs to make a comeback. It’s a simple, straightforward oaky holiday scent that is one of my favorites.
The Latha base is solid but really shows its age. Most modern bases produce a much slicker lather. It would be great to see this one in Soft Hearts.

Another BaM scent that I really wish I'd gotten the opportunity to try.

Final shave for this French Vetiver smush. Overall, I'm pretty impressed by the performance of this cream and the scent is very pleasant.
Have a great Saturday!

I'm still not convinced that a slant does anything special, but damn did this give me a fine shave.
Three passes, super close shave, no irritation.
