Having hot water on hand can be pretty important in a warfare context...

Who was in the Leopard 2? I think the Brits use Challengers and the US Abrams. The Leopards are German and exported to a few countries?!
Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk · 35 pts · 263d
I think Leopard 2 must have been the callsign. Also, unless I'm mistaken we didnt send any heavy armour to Afghanistan?
tryitout@infosec.pub · 8 pts · 263d
The US had tanks in Afghanistan, I'm not sure about the Brits. They weren't used nearly as extensively as MATVs/MRAPs but they were there.
Corporal_Punishment@feddit.uk · 10 pts · 263d
I've just checked, we (the uk) didn't deploy heavy armour to Afghanistan. So as funny as the Op is, I feel like it might not be true....

At least Denmark and Canada had Leopard 2s in Afghanistan that were involved in combat. So maybe the "Brits" were just fancy Canadians.

A guy I knew in high school kept talking about using Abrams tanks to clear out the Al-Qaeda cave networks
I still think about him sometimes
I hope he fucking died, moron

Brits use Challenger 2. Also, the M1is called the Abrams, not Abraham

And Vengaboys is a Dutch band, so the whole thing is a bit of a mishmash.

Being British, and having met some ex soldiers, this is absolutely a believable story.
Edit a day later : fuck you for posting this OP, I've had this shit stuck in my head all day.

I hope people realise actual war isn't fun shenanigans like this.
The army is fun shenanigans, yeah, on occasion. In movies/memes that's all you'll see. Whereas the routine is boring af.
And real war is scary and heartbreaking because of how fucked up it is to have your friends explode to pieces or bleed out in your arms.
