No parking pavement marker being right beside a parking slot

Context: the red pavement line means "no parking".

E: context:

  1. There are a stretch of no parking zone behind the frame that looks pretty much the same
  2. This is also the bike/motorcycle lane
  3. There are enough room in the parking slot, so extra room for maneuver is not necessary
  4. The parking slots are not free
  5. The parking slots are next to a intersection

E: imo, the parking slot shouldn't be there.

Doesn't that just mean "stay within the lines"? Which you probably must do anyway, so it's just a reminder?

No.

Yes, there it obviously means "no parking". You were complaing about the little bits between the parking spots. Right?

I don't see the problem. Don't park outside the marked area. Red line is reminding you, because lots of people think the marked rectangle is a suggestion.

That looks like a bike/moped lane with parking spots plopped into it.

Yeah, that seems like a much bigger problem.

Am I missing something here or what’s the problem? There are parking spots and there is an area where you can’t park that’s clearly marked.

The small section after two spots is there to prevent people to park too close to each other. This prevents people from being boxed in.
