Actually, this isn't as far-fetched as you think. I used to work at this summer camp, and we had a lot of butterflies. It was a favorite 'Welcome to Camp' trick for the counselors to teach kids how to 'tame' butterflies.
Answer? You get your hands wet with water. And then you hold very very very still. They'll land on you to drink. It's still the coolest shit ever.
That’s when you hurriedly plant milkweed and force the monarchs to begin their migration immediately from your backyard, while you bathe in fruit juice.

How do you know when someone is coming over uninvited?
glimse@lemmy.world · 89 pts · 274d
-a person terrified of butterflies
-covered themselves in fruit juice??
-sat outside when the uninvited guest was coming over
-became the butterfly god
I've seen more believable stories in green text. The only reasonable part is planting milkweed

Probably texted saying “I’m coming over”, OP replied “No” or perhaps “Fuck off” and then they show up anyway

"they wouldn't stop showing up" so person planted milkweed to gather butterflies for the inevitable fruit juice bath storm.
