Yeah, there are saner ways to make the case for veganism. Like, for example, the planet being on fire because of post-war government bailouts for beef and dairy conglomerates scamming an entire generation into thinking that milk was mandatory.
You know, as an American who doesn't do sports, I had no idea why Sword and Shield had Team Yell as the villains when they're just a bunch of weirdly obsessive fans of a trainer.
And then a friend in the UK explained it with a handful of photos very similar to this. Question answered.
It was, but they were far from allies. They muscled on their patrons as often as the cops did to drag more cash out of them, because they knew they had a blackmailable secret and they couldn't go to the cops.
Right? Like, Christ on a stick, this guy was watching and getting hard to literal, actual, bona fide, god damn torture. And he has this record of suspiciously long surgeries with patients coming out of it in lifelong pain, and at least one of them dying of complications.
Those things are solid. If and when I eventually do get a car, I wanna get a little Toyota pickup. Not one of those moronic massive pavement princesses. Like the old Ford Rangers from the 90s. A little truck, good for converting into a van or just helping neighbors move things. A small, low to the ground, helpful, polite little old man truck.
The Satanic Verses might not be one of my favorite books. I have my own criticism of some of the themes in the story, racism being first among them. But I don't think that spending a life looking over your shoulder is fair. And the fact that he has to do so is a more poignant critique of Islam than the book itself.
I didn't know that they had Mina Harker in Deadlock. I've heard of the game, but I didn't know they were doing nods to the classics.

Honestly, excellent smears and use of squash and stretch. 10/10.
Okay, I see what you did there.
That would be one hell of a D&D campaign.
I'm surprised. For how densely populated India is, I expected to see more rail lines.
Aww, she's such a gorgeous girl.
