The reason I don’t believe he’s alive is because the photos have him smiling when he’s literally always like the photo here 😐that weird frowning yet straight mouth, like I think something is actually wrong with his face and I don’t think it can smile anymore
It's not hypocracy. They know time off is great. They know medical care is great. They know it's great to be housed and fed and not worried about a single paycheck being late ruining your entire life. Their philosophy is not that these things are unnecessary.
Their philosophy is that there are people who deserve these nice things, namely them and people like them, and that other people deserve to suffer. And that every nice thing they get that other people don't, further separates them from the people they don't like.
Some people who believe these things may actually truly believe that the carrot of a better life ahead of you, and the sticks of poverty behind you, might motivate you to innovate or improve yourself in some way. Some of them might believe that the suffering is important, because without it no one would ever do anything.
But I think a lot of them don't even think that. They just like having things other people want.
I think most of them believe those things are good, and then believe they have earned them without ever being able to recognize the efforts of those around them. Thus they believe they have put in effort and deserve it. Those around them "may not have put in the effort" because they didn't care, or were to busy to pay attention. It's foolish for us to believe so many believe others deserve to be punished for failing while putting in the same work; when really they explain it to themselves as they made the stakes.
That is the devide that allows John and Jane nobody to believe that people on the left are radical extremists... Because people are saying their philosophy is others deserve to suffer.
Makes it an easy "do I believe others should suffer, no; those people must be trying to manipulate me"
I mean... it's not really taking medical leave when you're dead. It's more an issue of open known fraud to keep an election from happening. You know, the sort of thing we all know the Trump team really wants to pull off.
Maybe this is the dry run? If people all know a Senator is dead and that they're being lied to and that it's being done to block an election and they don't riot in the streets over it then the next logical step would be doing that same thing when a President dies. Then maybe all the elections.
It's like the decades of hearing "innocent until proven guilty" has convinced the people of the country that if there's even a shred of doubt and we don't have 100% concrete proof the President raped and killed kids or a Senator is a rotting corpse we shouldn't do anything about it.
Even though "innocent until proven guilty" isn't how the US penal system works for most Americans. You don't get a CSI team pouring over every tiny detail to make sure you're guilty before you go to prison for decades. If you can't afford to pay for a lawyer and pay for specialists to analyze the evidence, no one does that. The cops can show up and find your wife dead and you laying in bed with a bloody knife beside you and arrest you. If you're too poor to afford any defense there could be a dozen confession notes in the house signed and dated by the killer admitting to framing you to see if it would work, and if no one on the prosecuting end happens to find, read, and care about one of them then you're definitely going to prison.
The worst part is the careers and funding for the police, prosecution, and most judges are based on arrest and conviction rate of the highest crimes possible. They want to charge people for murder, or child sex crimes, or drug trafficking. The big things that look impressive. So if someone does find that note but doesn't think they'd be able to arrest and convict this person and knows it would destroy the case against you they have motive to ignore it or 'decide' it's fake or not related without logging it as evidence.
Once someone without any money is arrested they're charged for the highest crimes the police can possibly relate to the situation, then they're locked in jail for months/years and threatened with decades of prison time and offered to plea to a lesser crime for a reduced sentence. After a year in hell being threatened with 15 more years in hell, an offer of 18 months with credit for the year already in sounds like a blessing even if you never committed the crime. That's what they rely on. That's why conviction rates are so high and we have more people in prison and a higher percentage of our population than anyone else in the world.
It's very likely that hundreds of thousands of people in prison in the US were innocent and just couldn't afford a defense. But since we've all heard "innocent until proven guilty" so many times when we hear that someone has a felony we all instantly think they're a criminal and a bad person.
"Innocent until proven guilty" is a lie. It's controlling the narrative. It makes the bulk of us feel the millions of US citizens in prison must have really deserved it even though we know about the for-profit prison system and the using prisoners to do slave labor. And it makes us hesitate to decide we know the wealthy and elite are 100% guilty. We didn't see a video of Trump raping and beating little girls, after all. We don't have a live stream of McConnell's rotting corpse. So we do nothing.
Sure, Fox News is targeted Republican propaganda. It's full of lies and bullshit, and even the things they're not flat out lying about they generally twist the meaning and implication of completely or make up some way for it to be awful.
It would be fantastic if we had genuine effective laws to keep that sort of propaganda from being spread. Seems to be a bad thing in any civilization that wants to be a healthy democracy.
At the moment it seems like the Trump administration continually getting away with bullshit and lies and him and his buddies buying up as many media companies as they can has crushed what little spine US reporters had left. I'm not shocked this isn't big news when he can sit there mocking reporters to their faces over and over in crowded rooms and have no one say a single word about it.
Crowded rooms of people just keep letting that happen. Not one single time have we ever heard someone in the background say anything like "What the fuck is wrong with you?" much less calling him a child rapist or a war criminal or anything else.
That's enough to tell me that every person in all of those rooms all of those times is far more concerned with themselves and their careers than with things like integrity and morality.
I don't think they do these things as dry runs, but when somebody pushes an envelope it definitely redefines the envelope and gives opportunists ideas.
The American dream says all men are created equal.
But this idea is not the human default. Most countries in the world, in fact most societies that have ever existed, have kept wide gaps between the poor and the wealthy. Those countries function in large part because not all men are equal: some are told they exist to serve others. A few have wealth because they are standing on the backs of the less fortunate majority. A lot of people have assumed there's no other way.
But the American dream is just an experiment. Can we hold it? Can we continue to educate ourselves and vote in such a way, as a whole, that allows us to keep a very very strong middle class, shun any king, and truly allow equal opportunity for all?
The tax money that is paying for his leave time and his medical treatment is OUR tax money. The 23% taken out of your paycheck is going towards keeping this leech alive and blocking the government from working while you stress about medical bills and childcare costs.
If rights, citizenship and even personhood are universal then the ownership class and political class are morally obligated to share wealth evenly.
The ownership class is very comfortable in its greed. Sharing, compassion and fair play take effort, and its cheaper for them to sponsor political parties that affirm their privilege is right and proper.
Hence when there's a general call for change, the far-right movements get a lot of material support (or even materiel support) from the capitalists.
And left-wing and centrist movements are pressured (enticed or threatened)to shift to the right.

I'd rather he suffer for as long as possible before the sweet release of death.
