Man, this makes me wish I could get EWW to compile on Debian. No idea what the hangup was, but I just remember being unable to get it to run.

Szorfein@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 270d (1 reply)

Yes, it should lack a lot of dependencies on Debian :(

For eww you need few packages https://elkowar.github.io/eww/eww.html#prerequisites

And of course rust, cargo, etc...

Yeah I ended up giving up. I might try it again if I ever switch back to Fedora, but that's probably not going to happen for a while.

I tried foot but I dont get why people prefer it over kitty....

rozodru@pie.andmc.ca · 2 pts · 269d (3 replies)

it's just simple and fast. handles images really well also. I've tried pretty much every terminal out there and I always end up back on Foot. works really well also if you use it with tmux. Wezterm is good too but it's got a lot going on with it and can be a bit slow. The only other terminal I really like is Konsole.

1984@lemmy.today · 1 pts · 269d (2 replies)

You tried kitty? Ive used all terminals and I always come back to kitty. Its just so fast and reliable. But yeah, no image support i think.

Szorfein@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 269d (1 reply)

kitty has this owm image support since the version 0.28

1984@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 269d

Thanks!

Szorfein@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 269d (1 reply)

Well foot is minimalist and really fast but It just lack a super important thing: 'Color reloading' when configuration change.

So maybe i will use kitty on the next theme, sacrifice a bit of 'fast', we'll see.

I tried WezTerm but it's slow and contain too munch useless features.

1984@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 269d

Yeah I tried wezterm too, felt the same as you.

what are you using as a file manager?

Szorfein@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 270d (2 replies)

Yazi and Thunar (with --daemon), no need more.

eldavi@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 265d (1 reply)

where you able to mod thunar to match this theme?

Szorfein@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 265d

I use oomox to generate the gtk theme used by Thunar. Gtk-theme are stored here
