In the US the cops would just laugh at someone reporting a $1 snack being stolen. Most places have a minimum dollar amount before a crime is even committed.
If I remember rightly, this was a union busting thing, not a snack pie thing. This security guard was involved in a unionizing drive, and a "stolen" snackpie was the thing they found to get rid of the guy. And of course the police went along with it, because acab.

I'd be pretty pissed if someone ate my Moonpies.
Like, I am pissed at past me for eating them all so I have none for current me. ðŸ˜

Koreans don't fuck around with these pies. They're frequently smuggled into NK.
realitista@lemmus.org · 14 pts · 245d
Sometimes North Koreans also smuggle themselves out to get them too.

Does the RoK not have selective enforcement laws? In the US, I think the 39 colleagues' testimony would get him off without anything else.

Well, maybe if you're white.
Otherwise it's indicative of inherent criminal tendency and they decide to make an example.
