I hate how people are being encouraged never to engage with anything anymore. Don't bother reading a webpage. Summarize it! Soon it won't even make you read it yourself, it will just tell you how to feel about it.
Trust me, our shitty attention spans show in every aspect of the world. The rise of people like Trump and the far right. Social media swallowing the world. AI being trumpeted as a game changer even though it's largely slop. Economies world wide in decline, because no one actually creates value anymore, it's just you sell to me, I mark up sell to you, you mark up and sell to that guy, he marks up and sells back to me, adnaseum. We are fucked. Fuckety fucked fucked, fucked.
It's capitalism's ultimate dream after all, the last barrier that prevents the ruling class from completely dominating our lives: your mind. Lose control of that, and rebellion is impossible, opposition is impossible, critical thinking is impossible. Only consumption.
The only people I know that use Firefox, myself included, do it because they don't trust Google and the other silicon valley tech giants. Way to shoot yourself in the foot Mozilla, it's like you don't know your userbase at all
Or other variants if Librefox is too locked down. Or just cut the AI off. You're going to have to go through the Settings for any version you use anyway, or you should.
At this point, you should lock down your browser first. And then suspiciously analyze why a website refuses to work and only make exceptions when absolutely necessary or use a different browser for that site.
The truth is much worse. If you read the TOS of most of these companies they state that they do not sell your data, and this is usually true but only by technicality.
They rent your data out.
After all, why would you sell something once, only profit once, and lose it in the process when you can lease the access to it over and over again instead for more profit.
But don't worry! They plan on adding an AI kill switch that will probably be just as effective as using incognito mode to hide your traffic from your ISP!

Our attention spans are fucked.

Yes, because less nuance, less attention to details and more power to big tech blackboxes is exactly what the world needs in 2025

Also, the original content creators are fucked. No page interaction? No ad revenue or subscriptions? No reason to continue.

This happens on your device for your privacy, then we make it public by selling it later

You can kill it by going to about:config and disabling everything that says .ml.

Moving to Librewolf when they were doing that ad thing a while back is looking to have been a solid decision.
