Really hate that about history .... anyone of any benefit to society dies too soon ... anyone that is detrimental to everyone, gets to live a nice long life

To be fair, when people that would otherwise have cause a detriment die before they can do so, one doesnt tend to notice them at all

You can also die after you have proven that you're detrimental on a massive scale. e.g. there was a string of assassination attempts on Hitler that intensified towards the end of WW2. No one would have forgotten about Hitler if he had been assassinated in 1943.
