How good are Amazon online shopping alternatives in your part of Europe? Have they improved since the beginning of the year?

In the Netherlands Amazon struggles to oust the locally established brands Bol.com and Cool Blue.

Both webshops are still going strong and Amazon has not found a strategy that can tackle them so far.

If I need to buy anything online (which I try to circumvent) I use mostly Kaufland or Otto (both German). For the products that interest me, they sell everything that Amazon also offers, and in many cases cheaper and faster. These companies are also owned by billionaires, but at least they are German. If possible, I try to find out the online shop of the manufacturer directly.
