Is there a universal remote I can get that does not require stupid app sign up?

Tired of HDMI-CEC screwing up on my home theater set up. Looking for a universal remote that does not require a app to set up or me creating an account to set up the remote.

Also, cool using three remotes to change the devices/

KDE Connect allows your phone to become a remote for Windows and Linux PCs.

If your home theatre setup uses either OS and you own an Android phone then this could be a free potential alternative

Hope this helps!

Edit:

  • KDE Connect currently doesn't have the option to change video inputs

Flipper Zero has a universal remote mode, and for codes not in the database they can even learn commands from your other remotes.

€229 though for a Universal Remote is a bit steep

That may be so if you're just getting it for the remote, but if you have one around for other reasons this is another thing it can do.

I have a One for All remote that has a learning function, no connectivity required. Works great. Not sure if their other remotes are the same, but the small one is great for me.

It requires four batteries‽ Holy shit!

Kodi specific, but it works well.

Synchronicity because I just fixed CEC on my system last night lol

I've been trying to build one to replace my Harmony, but the IR transceiver seems pretty weak and don't think I have any other options.

Maybe some day.

Don’t bother trying to find one. Universal remotes have always sucked add and always will.

Harmony remotes, IMO, were actually pretty good.

But sadly they killed them off just before I got a home theater setup that I'm actually pretty happy with.

Still rocking my Harmony. Gonna be so pissed when it dies.
