I just played and beat this game in 39 hours. I really enjoyed my time. There was a few hiccups with determining what to do and where to go but I still really enjoyed my time in spite of that.
I wish it had further workshop support versus just sharing ship design. Sharing ships is a very welcomed addition but I could see myself playing for easily 100 hours if there was proper mods.
Any thoughts on this game?

Enjoyed this series, would love it to be a bit more freeform, like starsector.

Ooh this game looks really interesting. Though my setup isn’t that conducive to mouse and keyboard unfortunately.

It's been on my wishlist for a while and I was hovering over buying it during this Steam sale... I might get it tomorrow.
Is the first one in the series worth playing as well?

I haven’t played it but based off some reviews, it seems like this game is just an updated version of the first game.

I picked this up a week or two ago on sale and really enjoyed it more than I expected to. The ship building and testing bit was the most rewarding, though the way the galaxy map works made me think there would be a lot more to it- the way you can zoom out suggested to me there was more content than there actually was, but yeah- 8/10 I enjoyed it enough to search online the last few details I needed to get the "good ending".
