Unifideck: A Decky Loader plugin that brings together games from Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG into a single, unified library experience on your Steam Deck.
Main goal here is having everything directly integrated into steam. Being able to see your full GOG/Epic Library directly in steam and install games without leaving the steam interface.
I’m definitely going to try this but I need to know, will my login details be remembered or do I have to re-login every few weeks like heroic? which honestly does my head in when trying to do it on the deck interface.
NonSteamLaunchers still requires you to use another launcher to manage Epic/GoG games. The main goal with this one (as far as I understand) is that all the games show up in tabs in your steam library, and can be installed directly without an external app.
He said he used some AI tools while coding it, so I think that means Decky will refuse to add it.
In general I think the Decky store has become harder for people to get plugins officially added to their store. Fewer and fewer plugins are being added these days, it seems to take months for a new plugin to get added, and many plugins never make it onto the store at all. I don't know what's going on with the selection process, but it seems like it's much harder to get into the store than it used to be.

It's an interesting idea, but what makes this better/different than Heroic, Lutris, and other "integrate with Steam" things?
I guess with Heroic, I have to install the games before they can be added to Steam. 🤔

Fuck Epic Games Store.
Buying up users with free games is a trash strategy, and I will not use it on Steam Deck, when their CEO actively stops games running on Linux.

(neat tho)

How does it compare with Lutris?
atma46@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 228d
Can this be used on Linux PC? Other than on steamdeck?

The installation guide specifies Steam Deck, but I don't see anything that can't be done on a Linux pc.

I use Lutris and Steam to cover everything and it works great. Don't see a need to unify on desktop Linux, unlike the Steam deck.

Dude did this just make Junk Store irrelevant?

Nice, it would be nice to streamline the process of installing and launching non-Steam games. It’s a multi-step process for me right now.

How is this compared to https://github.com/moraroy/NonSteamLaunchers-On-Steam-Deck

Oh that's a good question
I was thinking about junk store but this is bigger comparison

quick question, @Fubarberry@sopuli.xyz: does this support installing DLC alongside games?
Fubarberry@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 225d
No idea unfortunately, I don't actually own any dlc on Epic/Gog.

Looks pretty neat, will definitely be trying it out

Can't wait for this to be in the decky loader store!
Can't see any reason why they would reject this

Ah shit. So every update we'll have to download the individual ZIP from the github
Wish there was something like Obtanium for Android but on PC / linux so we could at least be notified is a new update instead of having to check
Arcka@midwest.social · 4 pts · 226d
This should be easy to add if the project wants to. Linux has had package management for decades and it seems like nix is a popular choice on deck.
Edit: may get a built-in option for multiple stores simultaneously some day https://github.com/SteamDeckHomebrew/decky-loader/issues/746

Looks neat but I'll wait until they fix the filtering and tabmaster incompatibility

Dude this dev is lighting fast. It was just updated for tabmaster compatibility an hour ago today
