Wow yeah my comment for sure was not clear about the type of following :') that sounds so bad

The borderlands series kinda fell off a cliff when they forgot that it, at its core, was a big fuck-you to corpo bullshit. Literally was supposed to be a Mad Max style game. Its been dulled down to fart jokes and edgy humour and trying to capitalize on references and trends, with a shiny package and guns.

In fairness if I was followed by the person who follows women I would probably have cracked pretty good

Please don't call me man :)

The cat is "out of the bag" on consuming meat and dairy, plenty of people manage to survive and thrive without em, without much effort at all. I'd personally rather use no LLM than use a local agentic model with poor ethics/environmental impact of its training, even if the latter is better than corpo offerings.

As I alluded to, I'm much happier to see people using local agentic models. Even more so if they happen to be something like Pleias' approach, with lots of transparency about the data they were trained on. There's still the environmental concerns behind the resources consumed for the training, but it is about as good as one could hope for at this point if one insists on using LLMs.

I've managed to work away at my backlog, finally, because I stopped buying games willy nilly. It has been incredibly fulfilling. Try it!

A few things

The "there is no ethical consumption under captilaism" as a get out of jail free for trying to do better is just a nothing. We should all be, within our capabilities, trying to ensure we aren't at the very least direct financial supporters of evil companies.

Re: no trans person you know (...)

I'm a trans person I know, I go nuclear about jkr and harry potter, and I also go nuclear about the support and usage of meta products, purchasing of games from corps like actiblizz, ubi, ea, square, Microsoft, etc, Minecraft, discord, etc etc etc. I'm in the minority of the minority, sure. But most people don't have the emotional or mental energy to "fight that many battles" at once, much less to convince others to do so.

The fact that most people might stop at hating jkr and HP isn't evidence that they're wrong or something. Its just a symptom of how well known it is that jkr and her products harm trans people. Fewer people know (or, have internalised) that the other examples are bad.

I think people should feel shame if they're giving money to jkr or otherwise promoting her presence. I also think it would be good if more people were taking stands against more things, but jkr's a good start
