What to know?
How about avoid the US at all costs. It's a failing state.
Their government is actively shooting innocent people in the streets right now.

There should be travel advisories to the US.
Hayduke@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 210d
Are there not? I’d be shocked if any country would advise their citizens to visit under any circumstances. ….unless they didn’t want them back, I suppose.

If you're a foreigner, you shouldn't be anywhere in the USA right now.
If you're a citizen, you're facing just as much danger but need to stay and fight it.

It's a tax on US citizens without government issued photo ID's.

Who tf wants to travel to the US right now?
Sunshine@lemmy.ca · 15 pts · 210d
Morons who think they’re the exception.
engene@lemmy.ca · 11 pts · 210d
Even if you gave me $1000 bucks, I wouldn’t set foot in the US 🤨
Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca · 3 pts · 210d
You could offer me $100k and I still wouldn’t go.
rbos@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 210d
For 100k, maybe. It would depend on what I had to do when I got there. I'd also ask for an RCMP escort, maybe.

International tourism is always kinda expensive, but piling on fees in addition to some extremely serious bullshit that is going in the United States will drive anyone away. I actually did want to go to the US in the past and see the incredible natural beauty that is everywhere, but natural beauty is always ruined by human ugliness in power.

How will they know if I'm a citizen? Do I need ID to visit the park?
COASTER1921@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 210d
It's cheaper to take a whole vehicle in than two individuals on foot for most parks, and even for the America the beautiful pass they only check the ID of the passholder. There's pretty much no way they could enforce this so long as at least one person in the vehicle is a citizen or can pass as one.

just walk in
panda_abyss@lemmy.ca · 6 pts · 210d
This is the thing that’s making me decide not to go there
Why not just make it $10,000 for the Epstein ballroom.
