I share the sentiment, but in IR, you only change policy based on events, not rhetoric. The moment you make real changes based on shit people say, but not do, you're just a dancing monkey while they wax lyrical.
We should be well prepared in advance for that event. Prevention, planning, and strategizing are key elements that can help avert the worst-case scenario.

That "deal" was a non binding piece of paper given to Trump to make him happy. It never was going to really happen.

Trump's "deals" are not worth the paper they're printed on. He changes his mind whenever he wants. Take a lesson from Canada.
