Like we all don't come from there 🤣

Sure I may have used Windows in the past, but now I wash my hands of it.

fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk · 10 pts · 202d

All babies shit themselves, and evidence suggests I was once a baby - but since I have moved on, if I were to shake hands with a shitty-handed person, I would wash my hands afterwards.

The only times I've ever used anything but Linux as my main OS were the weekend I used FreeBSD and the weekend I used Haiku

Still count as one, you traitor... :P

turbowafflz@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 201d

not doing something about it 🤝 doing something about it

This one is kind of tough. I'm forced to use Microslop at work (though I've been using GNU/Linux privately for over a decade)

ranzispa@mander.xyz · 32 pts · 202d

I mean, I used to hate Microsoft way more when I was using Windows. Now I mostly do not care. Except when I have to open office365, then yes, I really hate Microsoft.

I'd like to meet the person responsible of designing that webpage and present him some very sadic friend.

I suspect that most Linux users are former Windows users.

Venat0r@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 202d (3 replies)

some Linux users are also current windows users 😅

I must admit that I don't plan to stop using windows anytime soon.

Linux is great and all, but there's no replacing windows when it gets hot in the summer and I want to let the morning breeze in.

Siegfried@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 201d

More like windows prisoners

sefra1@lemmy.zip · 13 pts · 202d (9 replies)

Everyone hates Microslop

multiplewolves@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 202d (8 replies)

I thought that until I was downvoted a bit back for calling them “M$” in reply to someone’s post about how they don’t want to switch to 11. I can’t imagine where that’s coming from, but it was a good few accounts.

I was told it came across as “unserious” and childish. I think it’s neither: I’m adamant that M$ is garbage and I’m quite serious about the advice I had given in my post to prioritize getting off of 10 before the hackers manage to find something worth exploiting.

M$ managed to make hating on them uncool somehow. Boggles my mind.

MnemonicBump@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 202d (7 replies)

I'm just confused here about how "M$" is supposed to be read

multiplewolves@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 202d (6 replies)

“Micro$oft”

MnemonicBump@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 202d (5 replies)

Right, but how is the "$" supposed to be pronounced? Is is Microcashsoft? Microdollarsoft? It's just not very intuitive

multiplewolves@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 202d (2 replies)

It’s just pronounced like an s.

This reminds me of a gag in a music video where someone called Ke$ha “Kay - dollar sign - hah”

NiHaDuncan@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 201d (1 reply)

What about bbno$. Even he switches it up from time to time. Keeps you on your toes.

multiplewolves@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 201d

The entirety of bbno$ can only be pronounced if you already know it’s “baby no money” or whatever. When you replace an existing s with a dollar sign, it’s usually (not always) pronounced the same as it had been.

cdzero@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 202d (1 reply)

The $ is silent.

lastweakness@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 202d

So it's Microoft

JoMiran@lemmy.ml · 9 pts · 202d (1 reply)

As is ancient tradition.

Everyonehas hated Microsoft since its inception.

possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 201d

It wasn't so bad back in the day. They used to care about customer experience back when not everyone had access to technology.

collapse_already@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 201d

Every time I reboot my Win 11 PC, Microsoft tries to get me to switch to Linux. (I don't want their online backup and the forced advertisement for it on startup pisses me off.)

blitzen@lemmy.ca · 4 pts · 202d (1 reply)

Mac users been hating windows before it was cool.

PixelatedSaturn@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 202d

Everyone hated windows since ever. Not like real hatred, just making fun out of it. That's why it's so weird and cultish to see Mac users so much in love with apple. It's not healthy.

gray@lemmy.ml · 4 pts · 202d (2 replies)

Uchiha is more linux coded. The Ubuntu and Debian logos are basically mangekyo sharingans

Fedizen@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 202d

The logos maybe, windows users have definitely enjoyed being the uchiha clan until the AI slop coup.

Twinklebreeze@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 202d

I've never felt more shame about using Linux.

Googlies@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 201d

I live in the UK and I wonder if the windows experience really is that different outside of the UK/Europe?

I don't have any intrusive ads or system instabilities that most of these posts complain about.
