As an outsider, I'm curious about this. So, the red train is fast for both the people inside the empire and outside the empire. The blue train is fast only for the people outside the empire, where it's just as fast as the red train. To me, it sounds like the blue train is still preferable.

We were discussing the flexibility offered by GNOME's extensions, which you, with your limited understanding, declared to be something that KDE can match, when that's just plain untrue just by virtue of how extensions work. You also implied that GNOME core devs are careless about extensions, which they are not. It's just how GNOME extensions work. It's a tradeoff for the flexibility, one they've tried their best for years to mitigate including offering porting guides. You can take offense to being told you're ignorant about all of this. But once again, that doesn't change how reality works.
That all said, I agree that I don't have the time or energy for this either. But as a software engineer, I really wish people wouldn't bring in their "opinions" when facts about a piece of software are being discussed... Anyway, i won't be replying here anymore, so bye

KDE also simply doesn't allow everything GNOME allows. I love KDE and I have past contributions to KDE as well. But pretending they're on the same level of customizability is delusional. Yeah, most parts of our country are really fked... I live in a decent little state called Kerala, but yeah, we're one of the exceptions, not the norm.
