Explanation: At one early point during his conquests, Alexander the Great ran into the Gordian Knot - a local legend that said whomever could untie the (seemingly impossibly twisted) knot would become ruler of all of Asia. Alexander, seeing an easy solution, simply cut the knot with his sword (according to an alternate account, he removed part of the cart it was tied to instead, allowing him to unravel it easily).

This has since become a metaphor for solving difficult problems with brute force.

If it’s stupid and it works, it is not stupid

Who exactly came up with the rule that boobs are NSFW, but cutting a dude in half with a sword is SFW?

Religious puritans that want sex to be incredibly mysterious and poorly understood so more people make babies for the social elite to traffic

Look, I know this is a common repeated question in response to this, to the point of being a meme. But honestly, sex is private, and you know it. Try having sex in the middle of a shopping mall and ask again. That’s acceptable in approximately zero places across the world, and it’s not because sex is bad. It’s just not the place for it, it’s an intimate thing.

Next you might say “cutting people in half isn’t acceptable in a shopping mall either”… but bad things need to be discussed in public to make sure people understand what’s bad. Communicating bad things, and what IS bad, is an important part of society. And again, sex is not bad, so it’s not typically included in this.

I seem to remember that he didn't get to do a lot of ruling, he spent his life conquering and then died early.

"Power isn't granted it is taken."

Holds true today, if we want power over our governments, we can't just ask politely.
