Razor: Torrey Razor Co. 6/8 Full Hollow Round Point
Lather: Subtle Art Soap Co. - Maple Bourbon - Soap
Toner: Thayers - Coconut - Toner
Aftershave: The Cajun Blade - Lumberjack Luxury Aftersauce - Aftershave
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Maple Bourbon is not what you expect. It's not sweet at all. Rather, the maple tends to round the bourbon accord in the soap. This is a very nice scent, and while different, takes the place of WK's Amber Bomba for me. (My son absconded with Amber Bomba.)
This Torrey razor was a gift to me from my YT friend nonamebear. This particular razor has a Zulu Grey edge finish, but I don't think it would matter much. He is a terrific sharpener, and this razor has great geometry.
He sent me 3 of them and gifted me one of them. I thought they were all consistently good. I haven't honed this one, but its edge is holding very well (only 2 shaves).
Lather: Spearhead Shaving Company - Seaforth! Leather - Soap
Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - Varen - Aftershave
Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Stargazer - Aftershave Serum
Very nice shave! I'm confident in giving this one last freshening on the 10k, one last test shave, and then sending it to its owner. This is my first time sending someone a razor that I've "restored". They might hate it, but at least I know someone (me) would like it.
You have one that I've honed, too, but with the understanding that if it sucks I don't care, hone it yourself or send it back to me! A lot less pressure there haha.
I don't have any soap from Hoffman's, but I do have several soaps that match 50% scent notes. Stirling - Seine Reserve didn't have any scent notes listed on Stirling's website when they released it for Black Friday 2024, but they did note that it's a dupe of Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent. Taking the Fragrantica scent notes as guidance we have:
Top notes are Aldehydes, Green Notes, Honeysuckle, Bergamot, Peach and Lemon; middle notes are Rose, Iris, Ylang-Ylang, Lily-of-the-Valley, Geranium, Jasmine, Magnolia and Gardenia; base notes are Oakmoss, Tahitian Vetiver, Musk, Sandalwood, Amber and Tonka Bean.
3/6 gets me there, and lets me shave with a damn fine scent.

This was a morning shave (living the dream 🐙), and fairly good. I should have worked the lather more.
Have a good evening!

I don't have the theme soap, but I did have a tub of Hoffman's Old Spice dupe.
Have a good day.

Same company that made my Worcester Razor Co. razor, which I still have to figure out the honing on...
