I honed this Kobar razor and this was a test shave of it. It is owned by u/snoo-ting. Great little razor. I had an exceptionally close 2-pass shave with it.
This was my first use of the Adopted Acres Grand Champion 2.0 base. I'm not sure what I think of this one. Doug has talked about using polymers in it and I'd like to know what the expected feel and behavior is supposed to be. I hope to chat with him about this concoction before I use it again.
Brush: Wild West Brushworks Blue Space 26mm Cashmere
Razor: Filarmónica 14 15/16" Full Hollow Square Point Gen 2
Razor: Ralf Aust 7/8" Full Hollow French Point
Lather: Haku - Darktide - Soap
Toner: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner
Aftershave: Haku - Darktide - Aftershave
Fragrance: Creed - Virgin Island Water - Eau de Parfum
Talc: Yardley Classic
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
This was a test shave for the two razors described above. They both have a Karasu Jnat edge. This stone generates a distinctive feel, and I thought both razors exhibited it very well. This was my first use of Haku Darktide, Sean's first aquatic. This is distinctive and very well done in my opinion.
Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Stainless (Green) (5)
Lather: The Cajun Blade - The Cutter - Soap
Toner: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner
Aftershave: The Cajun Blade - The Cutter Aftersauce - Aftershave
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
Today was my first shave with both The Cutter and with the ACR1 DE razor. I enjoyed both. The Cutter has a very nice open sea scent that has a wooden boat feel to it, and the ACR1 has a design that allows some control over blade angle while providing protection from the DE blade. I'm probably going to send this DE to u/sgrdddy to critique. He is much more familiar with analyzing safety razor designs than I am.
Razor: Iwasaki 13/16" Full Hollow Square Point Tamahagane
Lather: Haku - Cedarwood - Soap
Toner: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner
Aftershave: Haku - Cedarwood - Aftershave
Fragrance: Haku - Cedarwood - Cologne
3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
This was my first use of Haku Cedarwood. The soap base is top-tier for straight razor shavers, and the fragrance is very nice, well-blended, light woody scent.
Lather: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag Silk Tallow - Soap
Toner: Thayers - Coconut - Toner
Aftershave: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag - Aftershave
Fragrance: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag - Eau de Parfum
Talc: Yardley Gold
3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
This was the last shave of Austere August and the first shave on a stropped edge for this razor. What a difference! I had a very comfortable and extremely close shave. The boar brush is now well on its way to boar nirvana, and the Silk Tallow base from Chiseled Face was a wonderful experience each day. For me, it is much more straight razor-friendly than the standard soap base.
I did that early on, and did not know about the appeal process. sgrdddy told me about it but I was not able to create an account to initiate it. sgrdddy was able to do it for me. I would guess that Jeep knows about it, but it might be worth reminding him. If he missed a MMOC day, he also missed a STAG day.

Today I started with a new tub of the Chiseled Face Silk Tallow base. It has been fun to use this all month. It is quite different from other soap bases that I have tried.
It took an excellent edge.

My wife is the same way actually. When she gave up smoking, she could not tolerate being around it.

He added color to the aftersauce. It doesn’t seem to matter on the skin, but I would prefer it if the bottle were colored to achieve that effect.
Wait .... You're in France and your wife hates smoke?! How do you get a café without encountering it?

Well done sir!
I am quite surprised that you are continuing with this. I know you're not a fan of the standard soap base. Nor, am I.

Good group of MMOC mastery candidates. I'm a bit surprised about Jeep. I bet he just forgot to post.
Good call with your loaded strop material. For years, I used denim from an old pair of jeans loaded with Mother's Mag. Works just fine.

I definitely prefer the silk tallow base. It’s a unique in my experience. I’m sure it’s not for everyone, but I like it a lot.
