Lather: Australian Private Reserve - Raconteur - Soap
Post Shave: Australian Private Reserve - Raconteur - Aftershave
I've always heard that these razors are meant to be used with a very low angle, flat against your face. I've never really liked that because it creates some drag/suction, but today I put some focus on keeping the angle low. It worked great, but whether it's better than my normal approach is yet to be seen.
I 3D printed a bunch of stuff to send to VisceralWatch. He wanted to borrow a razor at first, and then I showed him a thing or two that I've made in the past, and the next thing you know I'm printing up a storm.
I printed these blade banks and they're really cool! Credit for the design goes to Roger Quin(tero?).
You can turn the wheel to track blade uses, but this is a blade disposal bank for used blades.
When it fills up you can either throw the whole thing away, or open it up and (carefully) transfer the blades to another container for safe disposal. Then you can reuse this as long as you want.
This soap has been difficult to lather the last few times with all the bits just flying around and the brush not loading. Earlier I took an empty creatine bucket that happened to fit just around the soap tub. I put some hot water on the soap and in the bucket and put the tub into the bucket. Wrapped it all in a towel for isolation. After refreshing the hot water in the bucket once the soap melted completely. Dried it for a few days in open air. Because of the added water it turned into a kind of cream. Shaving with it, is was quite nice and way easier to lather with, so I'm happy with the result. Now I can finish this soap in peace without getting irritated by it.
I was seriously considering defecting at the Stag Hunt. But not today. The soap hasn't improved since yesterday. It was too late for my straight, and I'm no barbarian either, so I used the shavette. Two results:
Maybe I shouldn't use a shavette either after 10:00 (some blood was spilled and dedicated to the chthonic gods)
The shavette felt awfully smooth – which is a sign the Parker should go back on the stones.

Does a blade come out if you turn the wheel?
