She's gotta perform for her main demographic: not people.

Aren't most famous accounts bot supported?

TrickDacy@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 204d (3 replies)

Why do you say that? The idea of fame is that you don't need to pretend to be famous. So I wouldn't think this is common.

Tikiporch@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 204d

Mostly based on the premise that the majority of X is comprised of bots.

Well, it would be rather humiliating for those with rather fragile egos and being pushed by Hollywood or the music industry or RW influencers that they are "famous" and then have shit for numbers.

I'm pretty sure it's fairly easy to hire out botnets or things like Mechanical Turk to give you fake traffic/followers, etc...I would not be surprised at all to find that most celebrities have someone doing some kind of a SEO stuff for their "brand".

Label companies have to keep their investments relevant

I really hope this means that social medial follower count loses credibility and is no longer a measure of anything.

It'd be news-worthy if it wasn't bots.

Who? Is that the new token black woman at TPUSA? Candace Owen was busy?

Drusas@fedia.io · 1 pts · 204d

New, "hipper" token black woman.

Isn't that most of her career? Her music sucked before she hopped on the GOP bandwagon. Her fame has always felt incredibly manufactured.
