I’m assuming he did this for some perverted reason, but I can’t figure out what. Did he want to see someone with a piercing stuck to the floor? Does that get him hard?

Gladaed@feddit.org · 53 pts · 194d (8 replies)

Fun fact: piercings are made from bon magnetic metals. Usually.

Ngl it took me longer to realize what you meant by “bon magnetic” lol.

Nonferrous works as well.

Widdershins@lemmy.world · 28 pts · 194d (3 replies)

Bonferrous would have worked

Randelung@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 193d (1 reply)

Yeah and weight plates are usually made with ferromagnetic materials, so really this would impact everyone in the gym doing movements where the weights touch the floor.

I haven't been to many gyms, but is there usually carpet in gyms? Seems gross.

Calfpupa@lemmy.ml · 8 pts · 193d (2 replies)

Rubber "carpet," yes

Peppycito@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 193d (1 reply)

So in this case they're saying carpet but mean flooring.

xkbx@startrek.website · 8 pts · 193d

or mats

thatkomputerkat@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 6 pts · 193d

The LA Fitness I used to go to before I moved a decade ago had carpet for most of its flooring. It was the kind of commercial carpet that came in tiles so you could peel up damaged ones to replace them.

faythofdragons@slrpnk.net · 4 pts · 193d

Usually? No.

But I've seen more than one hotel gym with carpet.

This is not how he thought his training arc was gonna go.
