since the author retracted the paper after actually studying wolves in the wild, where the behaviour doesn't occur at all, it's basically just a label for how you would behave if locked in a cage.

...also, is that an ai andrew tate? he's not that wide.

TomMasz@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 175d

And he definitely doesn't have that much chin.

Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net · 14 pts · 175d (3 replies)

Idk if it's AI Tate.

Yeah the papers been heavily discredited, but people like putting themselves in boxes with labels. Just look at myer Briggs

moonshadow@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 175d (2 replies)

It absolutely is, I'm starting to notice you as a slop poster man

Track_Shovel@slrpnk.net · 3 pts · 175d (1 reply)

As I've said before: if it's a good meme, I'm posting it. That's the extent of it. I'm not playing AI sleuth just to make a handful of people happy.

I generally dislike AI and AI images but it's getting harder to tell. I don't have the time or the desire to look deeper into memes I find.

Comments about AI slop, while valid, are really unoriginal. I invite you to recreate the meme for me of it bothers you that much. Be the change or something... I'll happily post it with an non-ai image if you leave it in the comments. Otherwise, i'd appreciate it if you refrained from complaining about it due to the repetitive nature of the comments.

moonshadow@slrpnk.net · 1 pts · 174d

Idk what to tell you man, this is the first time we've engaged about it. You definitely could've slapped that text on a real tate pic in less time than it took to write that comment. If you're getting so much negative feedback re: slop posting it's become repetitive, you might want to either stop posting so much slop or find a more receptive audience. Not a judgment but a warning: I now associate you with slop, and no one likes slop. Pull up! It's not that hard to tell when crap's generated, all the people bitching at you about it seem to manage lol. Important 2026 skill, and probably good for your brain

Venat0r@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 175d

the ai put in a bit too much Vin Diesel.

But why use a slop image.

It got the point across without having to give the real dipshit any extra attention.
In this case, I think it was a good use.

Overspark@piefed.social · 12 pts · 175d

Even if alpha wolves were a real thing calling yourself an alpha then basically means that you're a coward who will only nip at the heels of an enemy when you are absolutely sure you have vastly overwhelming numbers and can wear your enemy down over time, because you sure as shit can't take them down one on one. TL;DR everyone calling themselves an alpha is a weakling.

I am the alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end. I clogged your toilet with 500 cigarettes.

I also link incel with indev, which is an even earlier more flawed version of the software.

As much as I love these quippy jokes at their expense, I feel that our reliance on humor allows for ambiguity. The only appropriate response to anyone saying they're an alpha male is, "that's really fucking stupid."

Etterra@discuss.online · 5 pts · 175d (2 replies)

"Do you're the leader of a bunch of unrelated, stressed out, social predatory animals that have been removed from their natural environment and social groups and forced together for the entertainment of humans?"

prex@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 174d (1 reply)

Now that you put it that way, we kind of are unrelated, stressed out, social, predatory animals that have been removed from our natural environment.
Not sure about the rest of it & sexism doesn't fix any of this.

Deme@sopuli.xyz · 3 pts · 174d

Not saying that it justifies anything, but it does explain things...

Rooster326@programming.dev · 3 pts · 174d

They don't respond to being called stupid.

Being called weird though. Taps forehead

There is a reason we stopped doing that. >!It was working!<

Zolidus@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 175d (1 reply)

anyone that has to tell you they are alpha, arent.

amorangi@lemmy.nz · 3 pts · 175d

Same goes for intelligence.

When men refer to themselves as alpha males all i see is insecurity.

HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 174d

Men who have to affirm to others that they are an "alpha male" or "sigma male" couldn't be further from the image they want others to think of them as.

Also, Andrew Tate is a colossal pussy who converted his home in Romania into a bunker with security cameras displayed in a panic room (the whole house being a panic room.

He's also a very shitty MMA fighter as evidence by his first and only fight in MMA since becoming famous (infamous?).

He's literally nothing that he advertises himself as, except when be used to openly advertise himself as a human trafficker and a rapist.

Stable Release men assemble!

TexasDrunk@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 175d (3 replies)

I was stable release male but now I'm no longer supported. So I'm no longer secure, I don't have the latest features, and I'm something most people don't want to mess with. However, there's a certain demographic that thinks I'm pretty great so I've got that going for me.

I tend to think of myself as a release candidate male. I've got a couple bugs to work out. Nothing big.

umbraroze@slrpnk.net · 7 pts · 174d

Did you know that alphas have low penetrating power?

...Why are you looking at that Andrew Tate picture again? I'm talking about nuclear radiation.

/stolen joke

Zozano@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 175d

Youre alpha? Cool.

I'm a sigma ligma omega deltoid.

What's your star sign?

Etterra@discuss.online · 4 pts · 175d

Wow look at how much he photoshopped his jawline lol

The_Almighty_Walrus@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 175d

Saying you're an alpha just kinda sounds like a furry thing

CyberEgg@discuss.tchncs.de · 4 pts · 175d

Usually, alphas only emerge in captivity. Alpha males subconsciously are feeling trapped and incarcerated I believe, which would explain a lot.

Smoogs@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 174d

And the most fragile snowflake

You can also think of it in physics terms as low penetrating radiation.

Alpha software needs a Dev jail, just like alpha males need a real jail.

Sam_Bass@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 175d

Now do alpha testers

howrar@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 175d

That's me. I am alpha male.

Zozano@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 175d

I once lived with a self-defined alpha.

He was a giant baby.
