Such a weird thing from a european perspective. Here in Germany, you as a worker are obligated to take your vacation days. It even can happen that your boss asks you to take your vacation if you forget to.

Keine Ahnung. Ich dachte, das liegt daran, dass das hier eine deutsche MichMich-Gemeinschaft ust und es kaum etwas klischeedeutscheres als DIN-Normen gibt.

Im Sprachgebrauch wird "die DIN" allerdings meist für Normen benutzt und die Bezeichnung bzw. die Nummer einfach weggelassen.

Well, in Germany we ofzen call US citizens "US-Amerikaner". I thought this to be rather usual.

"USians" would maybe not work great either since Mexico's official name is Estados Unidos Mexicanos, so they could be USians, too.
