I was told there would be 22 cars this year instead of 20. I feel lied to.
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 19 pts · 149d
Race mellowed out by the middle of it. Wonder how it would've been had Verstappen's car not borked yesterday.
Hamilton seems much more comfortable with these regs than ground effect. Feels like his podium isn't too far away.
Microw@piefed.zip · 0 pts · 149d
Hamilton suddenly driving good again once he knows that the car could win a race. That guy is truely like a yo-yo.

Ferrari strategy π
TentinQuarantino@feddit.org · 9 pts · 149d
Ferrari what?
stephen01king@piefed.zip · 3 pts · 148d
I'm starting to think those two words are an oxymoron.
_ed@sopuli.xyz · 3 pts · 149d
I think it was the right call. Trying to imitate the mercs they would have had no chance. Ferrari did get lucky with the vsc.
Nighed@feddit.uk · 1 pts · 149d
They had gone past the entrance before the vac was thrown I think?
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 149d
WHAT PIASTRI CRASHED DURING RECON LAP??!??
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 149d
Ah super unfortunate for Hadjar. He was doing so well.
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 149d
What an explosive start by Ferrari wow.
t0fr@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 149d
It was exciting at the beginning, and then all of a suddent it wasn't anymore
JabbaTheThott@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 149d
I was surprised to see the Astons out for nearly double the laps they predicted. I wonder if the vibration wasn't as bad as they thought, at least for this race
eta@feddit.org · 7 pts · 149d
Damn Verstappen is on the move those hard tires.
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 149d
24 laps and Stroll and Perez have already been overtaken.
Nighed@feddit.uk · 11 pts · 149d
4am@lemmy.zip · 2 pts · 149d
Why did this happen? Was this the transponder turning back on as they tested something in the garage?
Jacob93@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 149d
No, they kept visiting the pits then returning to the race. Treated it more like a test session.
4am@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 148d
Ah, donβt know they were allowed to do that. I guess if the car is running on its own power itβs fine? TIL
hypeerror@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 149d
I'm loving this back and forth fight so far.
Nighed@feddit.uk · 5 pts · 149d
Maybe Aston HAS been sandbagging! π€£
Nighed@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 149d
Ah, there we go. At least giving everyone that overtook him again some fantasy points.
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 149d
Nooooooo Bottas' car
Hopefully not a Ferrari disasterclass with the pit stop strategy.
wes@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 148d
π thb it was not a absolute disasterclass, but strategy-wise it could have been much better.
birne@feddit.org · 5 pts · 149d
That is a nice fight at the front. If that is what we will get more often, then I don't care that the drivers don't think that the cars are fun.
Nighed@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 149d
Apparently hulk is being rolled back to the pits?
TentinQuarantino@feddit.org · 4 pts · 149d
That Red Bull PU went uh-uh-uh-oh-ah π₯΄ I was curious what Hadjar can do
PhatalFlaw@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 149d
OMG Piastri. Choking under that pressure? Broken? Computer f up?
florge@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 149d
Something similar to what happened to Max maybe?
Edit: looking at the replays, it seems like a driver error.
PhatalFlaw@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 149d
I would not be shocked if it was the hybrid giving that much more power than he's used to that caught him by a bit of surprise as he slipped on the accelerator
lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 148d
Ted's Notebook seemed to imply both a driver error and a car issue.
CMLVI@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 149d
Mercs just did not fade like I thought they would. Damn
Munkisquisher@lemmy.nz · 2 pts · 149d
I think they went into tyre management mode after the early stop they were cruising from there
CMLVI@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 148d
Tire management mode faster than most other cars flat out it seems lol
_ed@sopuli.xyz · 4 pts · 149d
Linblad V Lawson.
Oof.
Nighed@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 149d
There goes Alonso!
Nighed@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 149d
They didn't show THAT clip on TV did they?!? Very close at the start!
Nighed@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 149d
Who is shaking more, Russel or Alonso? π
hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 149d
I'm curious about how chaotic deployment is going to be in race trim
hypeerror@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 149d
Well that was quick.
PhatalFlaw@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 149d
F1 TV on Apple TV this year is SO much better than Sky on ESPN. What the hell have I been watching for the last many years?
Drusenija@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 149d
Wish it was global and not just US only. I know I can probably run a VPN and get it working but seems like a lot of effort when I have access elsewhere.
